Need to find a Qantas Club corp. program

Gday everyone,

Just joined this morning and glad to be part of this illustious group. ;-)

I fear that I've completely skimmed all replies to this thread and only read the original thread started by Admin. So, please forgive me if someone has already asked the following queries:

1) I am an existing QF club member, but my membership expires in September, 2007. Does this count me as ineligible for application as part of the 10 members required for a corporate account?

2) Does the corporate renewal fee trump the stand alone QF club value of $355?

3) Any discounts on Guest Passes?

Regards
Tim

Great to see some people finally committed!

In reality we need more people who are not current QC members, as a transferred membership is unlikely to be eligible among the 10 "foundation members".

All the same, great that this scheme is beginning to take off!

Tim,

If we have the scheme up and running by September you may be eligible to transfer into the scheme. If not, you may possibly become a "foundation member"!

I believe the corporate renewal rate is $285.

Cheers,

Brett

I'm interested in this offer. What happens if you reach Gold while a QC member? Does that impact you or the QC Corporate deal?

(I'm not a QC member right now)

Thanks a million for the clarification. As good as the title of 'foundation member' sounds, I will have to pass on re-enrolling. Idea of forking out another $600+ doesn't really appeal to me at this stage...considering I didn't actually pay for my initial QF club membership - thanks to my now defunct QFF Gold.

A big thumb's up to Admin for the initiative on this project.

Your QC membership is put on hold, and once you drop below Gold will kick in again.

Which is an interesting concept if you reach Lifetime Gold. I still have 18 months remaining on a 2 year QC membership. I have had status-based complementary membership since they began that benefit. So now my "on hold" QC membership will only be reactivated when my Lifetime Gold status expires  .

Well.. we all know how well Qantas does with logic

There is no guarantee that with any future QFF program "enhancements" Lifetime Gold will continue to have complimentary QC access.

One of teh difficulties of getting an AFF based corp membership is that one of the underlying purposes of the contributions here is to get people up highre in status so that poeple who would only be PS are now SG.

If people here werent so damn helpful at getting pople higher status thgere would be more people to join the AFF corp QC program ;)

If you can get me from NB to SG/WP by the 20th of November I won't need to join either! :D :D

Well a roundtrip to HNL on AA with a candy steal would get you OW Sapphire easily before 20/11 :)

As you know, when your current lifetime ends and your next lifetime starts you will drop to lifetime silver and your QC suspended membership will reactivate

Hi everyone.

I too am interested in this offer. Just a query.

Is there a discount on the renewal rate (i.e. after one year)? The website makes mention of a "once-off joining fee", but it doesn't really say whether there will also be a discount on the renewal rate or whether the $200 discount is also a "once-off".

So less than the $355 quoted on the QC website?

Count me in then. I'll PM Admin to let him know.

I'm just a QFF, so time isn't really an issue. Got my first taste of QC in Singapore in May thanks to a Pass from Amex.

Don't have the Amex anymore, so no more free passes.

I believe the renewal rate under the corporate plan is $285 per year. Get in contact with 'Admin' to get your name on the list.

So if my maths is right and I transfer the net saving in year 1 is $70 and likewise each other year unless the tariffs change?

Next question is that does years membership of Qantas Club in itself convey any benefits. I joined in 1993.

regards

Hi Paul,

As you are not technically 'earning' status credits or points with your QP membership I would suggest there's little to worry about. Furthermore, if we can get the scheme up and running you should be able to transfer in without dropping your original membership. There are other, more experienced posters here who should be able to help you.

Cheers,

Brett

I'm joining! This is a great idea and will come in handy for my travel plans over the next two years.
