Mouldy food being served in the SYD F lounge

They have responded in a timely manner, but I'm not sure we know the 'appropriately' bit yet? We don't know the steps taken, or how extensive those steps are, to remedy the issue (if there is one!)

To be honest - how many of us will now turn over the burger before eating it at the FCL?

You don't actively "turn over" the burger as such.

Lifting it up already exposes its underbelly. It's more a matter of whether you are observant or not.

I usually turn a burger upside down, fits better in my mouth (ie curved side of the bun works better with my lower jaw)...maybe I'm just strange. But then, I always check bread for spots before I use it.

Yes. Although the mould was on the bottom of the roll (it seems) - maybe not so immediately obvious.

Well from the photo (unless I am seeing things that aren't there), there is also mould on the lower part of what would have been the top part of the bun. So once it was cut in half, prior to assembling that bit should have been apparent.

My point of view is that while it shouldn't have happened, we are all human and mistakes happen. I am more interested in steps taken to rectify and frequency. So I am sure all the regulars on here will be examining their bread in depth at the F lounge in future and if there are more photos of mouldy bread I would be concerned. Given the amount of mould inhibitors in bread these days, it must have been very old bread, or unusual circumstances!

The main reason doctors tell you not to drink alcohol with antibiotics is that it makes you more likely to forget to take them

The exception is metronidazole that does make you feel unwell if you mix with booze

Ahhh! I hardly ever listen to the doctors advice regarding alcohol. Everytime I see a doctor and get asked how much I am drinking I say half as much as before.

In saying that I did go 6 days without alcohol recently when I was on the 3rd different antibiotic for the tooth infection.

They most likely are pre-cut. Which could explain (a bit) why it can be missed ... (eg minimum handling of the bun is needed). But still, obviously some closer inspection was needed. No-one would let that go to a customer if they saw it!

LOL! If only that were true. I don't count how much I drink. When a doctor asks I really don't have a clue so it's best guess under pressure.

Really? Fair enough I suppose - with the large numbers and time constraints it does need to be fast food....

I had the fish burger last Friday before departing on QF3 to HNL. Don't know if it was related but my guts started acting up while still on the flight (I didn't eat on the flight). Normally I've got a "cast-iron" stomach.

I wonder if the kitchen staff need their eyes tested, or to wear their glasses. When I'm not wearing my glasses, my bread often looks a bit mouldy to me until closer inspection w' glasses on.
