I'm assuming it's not OK to advertise one's own services in AFFF? I posted this thread as we booked the fare for clients. :) SYD based and advice happily offered.

N.B.: Since the fare is in USD, the AUD amount will change with FX rates.

Hi tried to PM you but don't think it went through, get you PM me when you have a mi? Thanks

Hi Richard,
Would you mind providing your contact details? I travel to US/Europe a few times a year (usually in economy). I would love to have some advice from an expert like yourself.

Cheers.

As this fare is plated to AA would I be able to direct SC & points to QFF even though I'm on QR metal?

Short answer is no. Qatar is not quite in Oneworld yet.

Points earning is not based on what carrier a ticket is plated to eg AA tickets begin with 001.

It would depend on how the flight itself was booked ie what was the actual flight number (also referred to as the marketing carrier) & whether points are earnef on codeshare flights under the rules of the marketing carriers T&C.

The operating carrier eg if QR metal doesn't come into the equation as the flight was never booked & ticketed as a QR flight.

These ex-CMB fares typically allowed for the AA codeshare to be used. While this would not give you QF FF miles, you would accrue AA FF miles, but it would also generate QF SCs.

unfortunately, these fares have recently jumped significantly in price and are no longer the great deal that they have been for the past few years.

if travelling to the US, one of the better premium options now seems to be a DCIR* fare ex-HKG.

Wouldn't QF FF points still be earned due to the oneworld relationship?
