Was in discount Y

Discount Y between Australia and Kuala Lumpur credits at 0.25 points per mile, so that would give 640 points for the trip. Double that for the promo and your up to 1280. Not sure how you get to 1600!

Im the suspect. I receive a call from qff to say there will credit mine 3K sin-kl-sin but there are sorry there can't credit my MH flights. i even ask her to check again as Im on MH 1140 Z class from kl-pen-kl, she put me on hold to check with someone and yes domestic MH flight you earn zero points /sc. As I have 5 flights booked on MH for the next 2 month, maybe I should just put the points on Enrich.

on what basis??? MH1140 seems to be operated by MH mainline right? Then you are entitled to points and SCs. Unless I really have missed it somewhere along the way... there are NO exclusions for this in the airline earning table for MH. You have every right to earn points for not only the flights you have flown, but also any others you have booked (that is your legal right).

She say you earn points if you are fly to and from those destination and not for domestic. will call qff again tomorrow to check.

I agree. Unless excluded in the earning table, you should earn according to bookings made. And qantas is free to update the table, but they shouldn't deny previous bookings...

they got that wrong! all flights not covered in the second set of listings (indicated by a '#') are eligible at the full rate... a domestic flight is not between any of those origin/destination pairs, therefore is eligible at normal rates.

edited to add... otherwise it would mean no points earning at all between Au/Malaysia and Japan/USA/India/China/Hong Kong (etc etc)?

That'd would be a huge carve out...

the more I think about it the more crazy the QF response is... if GeraldG was told you earn points if you are fly to and from those destination and not for domestic then the whole second part of the table (with a '#') wouldn't apply at all - only the first part would.

I wonder if this was a response from QF singapore or was it QF Australia?

should be australia as she say she is calling from qff, I don't think there have a office in singapore.

fair enough - well anyway - she got it wrong... more generally her interpretation would mean no points earning anywhere except those listed flights under '*' and that's clearly incorrect.

As others have said, she was wrong. Me thinks a trip to Siberia, er, I mean some retraining is in order.

Send a copy of the ticket and boarding pass to [email protected] and wait for the auto response to come back, you should get a quick resolution as Z class is causing problems but will credit, I suspect the QFF system does not like some of the airport codes.

No one has as yet (as far as I can see) has posted the booking classes MH uses for their domestic flights. Though I doubt it, it may well turn out they are classes not in the table, so don't need to be specifically 'excluded'.

As per the above, Z is the example that was declined.

I just had a look at KUL-JHB one way - this is what comes up under the fare rules (the bold text 'city pair (fare basis)' is their text which copies across in bold):

City Pair (Fare Basis)

1.1fare cls explanation book codes -------- ---------------------- ---------- dbz business class advance purchase fares d within area 3 for one way fares for an adult. FARE TYPE CODE BAP no booking code exceptions for carrier - use prime rule - 457/myez mh business class fares within malaysia application area these fares apply within malaysia. class of service these fares apply for business class service. types of transportation this rule governs one way fares. fares governed by this rule can be used to create one way/round trip/circle trip/open jaw journeys. capacity limitations note - ------------------------------------------------ attributes of business - valid on mh services only ----------------------------------------------- a - waitlist permitted b - date and time changes permitted for free c - refund permitted for a fee d - advance seat selection e - 30 kg baggage allowance f - lounge access g - 150pct mileage accrual h - check-in via call center allowed i - priority boarding - baggage and check-in

Does show on most routes, this one is V:

Unless its a promo fare, domestic is normally V and above in economy. Always pays to check though.
