Flexible V Direct earn reward cards

Hello, I currently have an ANZ Platinum rewards card. Im just wondering if flexi reward cards or direct earn rewards cards will be better after Oct 1 2026?. I know all reward cards will be in the firing line but surely one will weather the storm better.?

Direct earn cards often tend to be stronger earners because the earning rates are more transparent, whereas banks can hide things through the mechanisms of their rewards programs (eg lesser conversion rates hidden from advertised view, etc).

ANZ hasn't revealed their changes just yet but you can expect that with the other three major banks having done so, and with the requirement to give notice to existing cardholders, this would be quite imminent (this month).
