Or maybe the website hasn't been updated in a while, or the "work experience kid" pressed the wrong key when typing up the details...

I visited this page only 3-4 weeks ago and it was definitely only 17:30.

Currently QF133 to AKL @ 17:30?

Maybe something to do with some planned schedule changes, or the use of the lounge for other partner airlines?

I checked all other possible partners including EK and none have departures then, only possibility I can think of is the JQ flight to Denpasar departing at 18:45, maybe there were too many complaints of start class pax having no lounge access?

EK to SIN goes at 1900, I suspect that's your answer.

So what ? They would have to open 24h if they were going to cover ek departures. 10.25pm and 3 something am. I think You are wrong

Given they will also cover the JQ departure by extending the opening there is some logic to it, unless the QF flights get retimed to cover the EK SIN flight. Covering all the departures would give the QF passenger no incentive to fly QF, while covering the Sin EK flight does provide an incentive for QP passengers to use that service under a QF flight number and thus keeping up the Asian push. Or maybe it's just for rostering as the retimed hours were not working?

Anyone notice the MEL QF J lounge is now open til 23:30? Not sure when this happened, hopefully now this means lounge access when flying FJ to NAN @ 23:05...
Pity the first lounge still closes at 17:30 :(

Anyone have any idea why they're keeping it open much later now?

Only thing I can think of is maybe they've done a deal with Qatar now that they're OW? their last flight leaves at 23:55

According to the QR website, this is not the reason: Qatar Airways Business Class passengers can access the Air New Zealand Lounge at Melbourne's International Airport.

Yes I am aware of that, they have had that arrangement long before joining OW, I was just trying to think of a logical reason why they would extend the hours and either FJ or QR are the only flights around that time.
