Malindo Air is planning to start direct flights from Adelaide to Denpasar/Bali, continuing to Kuala Lumpur. According to Routes Online, the flights will start on 31 March 2019.

Jetstar is the only other airline flying ADL-DPS. Malindo has full service (bags, meals and entertainment included) and the flight will depart Adelaide in the morning rather than the evening, so it will give some more options to Adelaide flyers.

Presumably this means Malindo's existing BNE-DPS-KUL and MEL-DPS-KUL routes are going well.

Wife flew Malindo to DPS from MEL and said they were absolutely fantastic.

I've flown their dom sector in Malaysia and was amazed at the leg room in Y. If that's the same config a/c that is used for the ADL sector, that's definitely a big plus.

A daytime flight not arriving at awful hour! Excellent. And returning?

Looks like night flight DPS-ADL unfortunately.

Owned by the Lion Group. No thanks. I enjoy living :)

Well the Adelaide flights aren't even on sale yet, but Malindo is already apparently looking at daily SYD-DPS-KUL flights starting in June. (Shame about the awful timing on the DPS-SYD return.)

Malindo Air proposes Sydney launch in late-June 2019

Malindo Air in the last few days filed proposed schedule for Kuala Lumpur – Denpasar – Sydney route, currently not available for reservation. The airline intends to serve this route with Boeing 737-800 aircraft starting 21JUN19.

Proposed schedule for this daily service as follows.

OD171 KUL2210 – 0120+1DPS0310+1 – 1105+1SYD 738 D
OD172 SYD1235 – 1720DPS1820 – 2130KUL 738 D

And what if the service is operated by a 737 max.they were the initial operator.

Anybody else find it interesting that Malindo runs 4 flights on the DPS-KUL route all within a 90 minute window?

Trying to work out the best way to book Adelaide to Bali with Malindo Air the second they go on sale and checking website & Facebook constantly. Does anyone have any ideas on how best to go about this??

Adelaide already bookable if you didn't already know. Still very good prices for Easter holidays.

Anyone flown them yet? How strict are they on the hand luggage, do they weigh every single bag?
