3 hours into my midnight flight from Singapore to Sydney, I “realised” that I had left my $3000 laptop on the security gate conveyor belt…..
My dad left a nearly new phone in either GMP or ICN and they found it, but they said the only way to retrieve it was to go back in person.

Always quadruple check your booking on the airlines website, esp dep city and arr city, esp if you are just doing dummy booking, and also dates of travel, if you are playing around with dates.
Eg, AVV and MEL airports, do always check, on the QF and JQ websites, QF esp.

Wow
Dumbest travel mistake I’ve made in a while…

BUT - amazingly - it’s actually on its way back to me.
On the flight, a flight attendant sent a report to the airport, and I separately sent an email to the list and found office.
I’d given it up for dead, but 5-6 days later as I was getting into bed, I received an email from the airport staff saying my laptop had been found.
Come morning I started the process of getting it back.
Now - $185 later - it’s at the DHL facility in Sydney, passed customs, should be home on Monday.

Great lesson?
Lol
Make sure someone is at home, and its ATL, as is the standard practice post covid
Ordered something from ebay, $37.02, and the item has disappeared, shown on ebay as delivered, it was only a 4 box carton of cocobella mixed coconut 1 litre box of 4 box drins.

In Singapore quite safe . I saw this TikTok you can reserve a table in Singapore by place something on the table in hawker centre then people won’t take it .

But airport ahh probably tempting for a tourist to take it . That’s good you get laptop back !!

Very lucky

I think being the last or almost last flight of the day at that gate might have helped!
