In the unlikely event that it went to Court, it.may come down to where you are registered to vote.
I don't think so. I've searched in the past but haven't found original source, definitive answers. But from what I can work out...
Driver's licence - your home (=principal place of residence?) state;
Vehicle - where it is "garaged" (irrespective of above) so Victorians are aloud to drive to qld and stay for more than 2 weeks (apparently 😡)

Many people of course have 2ndary homes interstate, and vehicles garaged there as well as at their home, but also sometimes drive interstate so the vehicle/location/rego becomes random. From what I can work out, you can be required to have a nsw driver's licence yet your vehicle be required to be registered in Qld (although it may spend a lot of time in nsw). But when the cops ask... how long has this car been here? the correct answer depends on the state "you're in" .

"One thing I noticed when in WA a few months back is a heck of a lot non-WA plates on the road. When I left 15 years ago, it was a rare sight. I wonder why."

Just seems to be an awful lot more visitors than most years. I live right down south near a tourist town. It's always got a lot of folk from the east. This last few months there are many more as well as many more WA ones. Loads of caravanning folk too.

Having said that, my livelihood is somewhat dependent on the visitor population so I won't protest too much.
Well I was down your way for my 80th birthday in April at Bunker Bay - great place amongst many others….

Congratulations on your 80th. Bunker is a nice spot.

We are further south near Denmark. Best bit of the coast but a bit cold and wet just now.
Just like it was here yesterday, we had some good soaking rainand a cold morning today, but the sun is well and truly back now...

I'm curious: did I make a travel mistake recently?

It's been a while since I've been through DXB, and I've previously travelled by myself, and I don't think I ever recall arriving at C Concourse with a transfer to either B gates or A gates.

Arrived from CDG last week at C gates, and had to transfer to A Gates. I recall on the diagram vaguely that there was a bus transfer from C to A Concourse, but decided to follow the signage to A Concourse, figuring it would provide the most direct route and send me to the bus transfer.

As it turned out, after a long walk through C Concourse, B Concourse and then train to A Concourse, we finally plonked ourselves in the J Lounge, to then only have 30 minutes before boarding.

Did I make a travel mistake here? Should the Bus transfer from C Concourse have been more obvious? I still can't find anything on Google which would've given me more info or a trip report and images to help guide me better even if I had done some better research beforehand. I was aware that C Gates arrival would've been my worst-case scenario for transit, and unfortunately that's what eventuated.

Would the bus transfer have been any quicker anyway? I read that it only comes every 20-30 minutes, and then takes 20-30 minutes to get around the airport anyway.

To my mind, my mistake is forgivable.

We used our digital Suica cards at Osaka station for local travel. However, we now find that the digital cards refused to be recognised by the IC system in Kyoto.

Looks like the tap on and off at Osaka wasn’t recognised. We must have walked through the turnstiles too quickly on our way in and out of the local Osaka trains.

Kyoto station staff couldn’t assist because they were a different company. They told us to go back to Osaka to fix it. Luckily, we were going back anyway. Thank goodness for the JR Rail Pass !

After 5 staff members at Osaka told us 5 different places to go to get it fixed, we gave up and had to get physical IC cards instead. I am now slowly trying to used up the rest of the value on my digital IC card. Now down to ¥389 (about AUD 4.00).

Moral - Don’t walk too quickly through the turnstiles at local Japan train stations :)

Ah..... that brings back fond memories of ................ yesterday, in AMM. I think I ended up seeing 9 different people in the space of 20 minutes, trying to get an answer to my question re: transit program ........

Don't the gates only open when system recognises the tap?

Given that my Citi credit card will soon be no more, I decided to transfer the points to Velocity while the 15% bonus is on.

I then transferred all my points to Krisflyer.

Next day I logged in to Krisflyer and couldn't understand why I didn't get any bonus points. It took me about an hour to figure it out 🤣😭

Returned our hire car today at Manchester and it was noted the rear parcel shelf thing was missing

It was removed by the Liverpool rental employee on pickup, when he assisted us putting our luggage in and we assume Liverpool still has it. We didn't notice/think of it as it happened to so quickly

And now we wait, to see if honesty prevails or we're screwed

Sadly, honesty does not prevail and we got a $400GBP bill for the replacement part

Shot off a response, which is the employee removed it in their garage and kept the part and put our luggage in the rear, and asked them to provide security camera footage as the vehicle handover happened inside their warehouse/complex. Now we wait again
