I don't think so. I've searched in the past but haven't found original source, definitive answers. But from what I can work out...In the unlikely event that it went to Court, it.may come down to where you are registered to vote.
Driver's licence - your home (=principal place of residence?) state;
Vehicle - where it is "garaged" (irrespective of above) so Victorians are aloud to drive to qld and stay for more than 2 weeks (apparently

Many people of course have 2ndary homes interstate, and vehicles garaged there as well as at their home, but also sometimes drive interstate so the vehicle/location/rego becomes random. From what I can work out, you can be required to have a nsw driver's licence yet your vehicle be required to be registered in Qld (although it may spend a lot of time in nsw). But when the cops ask... how long has this car been here? the correct answer depends on the state "you're in" .
