I agree it is enough. It is a National scandal.

When I went to Hobart mid-December last year, I used Avis. I wanted to be Thrifty about my Budget so I got a good rate.... The car had lots scratches and dents, so extensive photos and Amendments (see thumbnail)

Now I knew there was a BP there so all good.....
Anyway heading back , I made good time and refuelled (avoided that oops) and ran into the partial terminal shutdown because of the bag left outside the building (16 Dec). Scooting around the building my mouth was watering with the thoughts of some food and definitely a few bevvies before boarding the JQ flight home to Adelaide.

But what Hertz me the most was this

What? what? It's a National Scandal. Treated like a convict with my tail between my head, how could My Sixt sense overlook the fact that once the last 'real' QF flight has gone for the day, so are the free drinkies..... damn, won't make that mistake again ....

In a similar vein, I once dropped a Europcar off at CNS Int and went and checked in my bags and after the mandatory chat with the check-in staff and associated jokes, I headed up the escalator and cleared immigration. Got to the screening point and was emptying out my pockets when oh,oh, I still had the car keys!

Luckily, the security lady whispered to me "do you want me to drop them back into the key box downstairs". Bit of a risk, but I decided a huge bill was a far greater risk, so I decided to take it and handed her the keys. Thankfully, all went well and the car was checked back in AOK!

Luckily, I'm a CNS regular so I semi-knew the lady involved otherwise it could have been a real problem!

They're just refuelling (to save paying the hire mob exorbitant fee) ... hang on, we're back to where it all started. No one way fee on this conversation!

Had $450 travel credit on my Amex card so thought I'd use it for a cheeky double SC trip to the Gold Coast (from Sydney). Using the Amex website I could not access the flex fares to maximise the full $450 and get a higher SC earn so I called them. Apparently you have to book the flights you want and then call them to change but it was a bad connection so I didn't push it. So I considered using the cheap fares and using the balance for accom but the Amex available accom was super exy. Okay, change tack. I'm travelling to Europe in July so maybe I could book a hotel with the credit. Found a nice but expensive hotel so treated myself to 2 nights in a room at my daily hotel budget + $100 per night, and would still save $250. Room booked but I still have $450 travel credit?!? Reading the fine print the travel credit is for use on Qantas flights only. Sigh. Okay, looks like I have to book some flights - so booked a day trip SYD-to OOL for this Sunday. Read the fine print again and the DSC bonus starts for trips starts on the following Monday. Sigh again. It pays to read the fine print in advance!
But they do ask if you want to use the Travel Credit before you pay up? Didn’t that give a clue?

It is just too easy to use a wrong credit card with all the changes and earn zero points.

Or be working on a tight schedule to connect with another person and book the outgoing flight on the day that you have been concentrated on - the arrival in date... Two days earlier

It's only money and the mileage upgrade still worked.... even if only to PEY

Happy wandering

Booked a last minute flight for wife and daughter BKK-CNX on smartphone. Did not see the names mentioned towards the end of the booking and thought everything was OK. After payment noticed that I had typed my daughter's surname wrong. It was only 1 letter and instead of 'T' typed an 'R'. That is my surname but mistakes on smartphones happen so easily.

Called wife and asked her to call Bangkok Airways to report the mistake and they asked her to send in copy of passport. I did that the next day which was the day before the flight but did not receive confirmation. Went to airport to explain situation and they said there was a note on booking and issued boarding pass in wrongly spelled surname.

In the mean time had received email from Bangkok Airways

Dear Mr.John K,

Thank you for your interest in Bangkok Airways' service. According to your e-mail, we would like to inform you that we do apologize for late response due to high volume of incoming emails from the passenger.
As we checked, we have already inserted code for ground staff to accept onboard due to missed spelling last name less than 3 alphabets <insert incorrect and correct name> with passport as you provided.

Should there be any further inquiries or more assistance, please do not hesitate to contact us.

We are looking forward to serving you soon.

Sincerely Yours,

Call Center, Bangkok Airways Public Company Limited

Could have been costly mistake. I wonder what would have happened had that been a JQ or TT booking? I know with QF and VA that would not have been an issue as you do not pay for infant and can add infant at check-in.

A big one, applied for a Canadian entry visa on line for $14 and by mistake booked it on an agency site and paid $137 for it!!!
The agency site was so similar to the actual Canadian site and unfortunately I didn't spot the difference.
