We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Any experience/data points on accessing lounges if you are on DONE4 when on a Finnair flight? Finnair usually doesn't allow lounge access for D business class fare bucket as it is considered business lite. Thanks

Is it a standalone sector? If so probably no access as PS, but if you’re connecting from another OW airline, you might have access depending on the most significant sector.

Similar to connecting from J to whY?

Most posters concur this is an error and D as part of a DONE should get full entitlements.

There certainly is a lot of conflicting information. When you are OW Sapphire or Emerald it doesn't matter, but if you are not, certainly will make you think about which airlines you choose

Yes it is HKG to HEL which is segment 6/16 and then a few days later HEL to LHR which is segment 7/16

Well, that negates any possible benefit from any non “lite” connecting sector.

I’ve not read thru the FT thread, so can’t comment on the reality for non-status PAX.

But it probably does highlight the pivot away from “why need status if flying J?” argument.

Hopefully it works out.

The FT thread is pretty clear - longstanding issue AY refuses to fix. I guess the question is, why bother with Finnair at all if they can’t be bothered?

Except that Finnair are the only OW airline that flies to Helsinki from HKG UK or Spain. So if you want Helsinki your are in a bind
