Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

I’m travelling to the middle east via Doha on Qatar Airways with my wife and another couple.
I have gold qantas FF but our friends have no elite membership…

Any suggestions of how we can all experience one of the lounges in Doha for the lowest outlay?

Much appreciated

How many friends?

Just a note to advise that Oman Air *does not* honour oneworld connecting flight rules for separate tickets. Many OW carriers do (or they don’t care) but Oman Air is a firm ‘no’ (at least if the ‘computer says no’ they’re not interested in the written rules).

Connecting from BKK long haul and connecting infra-gulf on a separate ticket.

This is not a connecting flight. The flight originates in AMM

Question on Qantas Club + Admirals Club

Hi everyone, (I did do a search on this but haven't found a recent answer, apologies if I have missed one!), I have in the past been able to access Admirals Clubs in the US via Qantas Club membership + ticketed on AA domestic flights (booked with classic rewards) with AA flight number. I've noticed the Qantas website now says:

Each time your next onward flight that day is on a Qantas or Jetstar flight number you'll have access to:
  • American Airlines® Admirals Club lounges.
So am I right in assuming that means that any domestic AA flights (with AA flight number) booked with classic rewards + QC membership = cannot access Admirals Club?

Thanks so much, appreciate your help!

Despite what that indicates, anecdotally you will be fine accessing an Admirals Club as a Qantas Club member flying on an AA flight number

Quick question if I may.

I recently flew BKK-SYD on QF (Finnair) and found that as the Qantas lounges in BKK are closed, that I was able to use the Air France lounge which was quite nice.
Even though I was only flying economy, Gold FF got me in.

My wife returns the same way this week, but she is only a Bronze FF so doen't get lounge access.

I note that if flying with Air France, a lounge pass can be purchased.
I tried with a QF booking ref and it didn't work of course.

Any thoughts / experiences on how I might purchase an Air France lounge pass?
Handy as it's near the QF gates.

Or are any of the other lounges like Miracle worth buying a pass for?
Last time I looked they didn't look that great.

Any advice appreciated.

Otherwise she'll spend 2 hours duty free shopping and cost me a fortune  ;);)

Qantas hasn't had a lounge at BKK for over a decade.

In general I don't find buying access anywhere good value, particularly in a place like BKK where food is relatively cheap.

Always worth checking if AF will allow paid access i guess.

I must be having a grey moment. I thought I'd used a Qantas lounge in BKK in the last 3-4 years.
Small one, always really hot inside...........
Though I see you're quite right. Closed in 2015.
Must have been a "share" ?
Might have been Emirates?

I bought AF lounge access for mother travelling through BKK September last year. However, looks like it is no longer available unless flying AF or KL. BKK did a dummy spit on airline lounges allowing access to non-customers of that airline, including priority pass and paid means of access, so that is no longer seems to be allowed . Seems to be restricted to one of the many Miracle Lounges or Coral Lounges. Couldn't have that revenue stream going to foreign operators.

You must have been waiting for this moment:

Qantas closes their Bangkok Business Class lounge

However, I'd recommend paying for access to the Omanair lounge which is fairly close to where the QF flights depart, and is comfortable, has decent food and self-pour champagne FWIW. It's my go-to PP lounge at BKK, no matter which airline I'm flying. How many others have self-pour champage? Only one I can think of, which Qantas elites could have access to but can't because of its location.

Me and my partner are flying from Singapore to Kuala Lumpur on Business Class tickets.
I am Qantas Platinum.
Which lounge would you choose?
  • Qatar Premium Lounge
  • Qantas First Lounge
I only have 2 hours transit therefore I can only choose one.

It is a 7:30pm flight, so both should be opened.
Honestly it depends on what you want to do and your preference for food. QR is a nicer ambience to relax in especially at the hour you're going to.

QF F is the default for a lot of passengers so it can be busier. But i definitely like the staff at QF F a bit better (especially the white suits, had some great chats with them).

QF F has at times some nicer food items (or should I say more interesting), but if you just want a lamb shank then QR is where you go. One option is to pop your head into QF F and ask for the menu (or follow along the AFF threads here, usually the current menu gets posted). The QR menu is accessible online so you can always compare.

Don't forget MH doesn't depart from T1 so you need to leave both lounges extra early.

Thanks for your advice.
All I wanted in the lounge is dinner (included in my ticket), a shower, and 1.5m social distancing from others. I am happy to use the SkyTrain to T2 after lounge and leave early.
I do have a SIN airport app so I can time myself to get there on time.

QF F lounge being closer to T2 as well.

“Extra early” from the F lounge really means 0-15 mins earlier depending on where the gate is. No need to leave any earlier than normal for an E26-28 gate (these are closer to the QF F lounge than most T1 gates, and similar distance from the QR lounge to most other T1 gates). but probably 15 mins earlier than normal if going to a F gate in T2.
