Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

Hi All,

I have finally resigned from my job and flying to CGK in J on QF with my wife from Melbourne on 26 June, does anyone know how to get access to QF first class lounge?

I was going to try the Emirates lounge but doesn't appear to be open during the time we are at the airport

I am VV platinum but only Qantas Club/ Bronze
Not possible, sorry. You'll have access to the business class lounge, obviously.

As far as I can tell from what you've given, you won't be able to access the F lounge.

You can post on the lounge meet-ups thread and if you are lucky, someone might be able to guest you in (not sure about 2, though).

You will, of course, be able to access the J lounge.

You could apply and be approved for the Qantas Premier Titanium M/C, to get 2 x QF F lounge passes.... however, given you have just resigned, that might not really be feasible... or smart... or offer any real value for money for 2 pax to visit an F lounge one time... sooo... ummm... yeah.... back in my corner! 🤓

Cheers,
Matt.

Would i have lounge access for EK lounge at PVG on a QF flight?

(Business class, WP) Also i assume its EK business class not first if there's access.
Answering my own question. Not possible as Qantas departs PVG from T1 and Emirates (and Cathay) depart from T2 where both their lounges are at.

The first class china eastern lounge is very meh. Barely any different to the business class lounge which i checked out last year. I think the biggest difference is the inclusion of spirits and champagne.

The main T1 terminal is also a bit sad for food options (their satellite terminal is so much bigger and grandiose...) I'm still so confused they don't serve Shanghai specialties at their lounge. A Xiaolongbao and shengjian bao section would be super popular. Or other shanghai eats. They have some of the craziest food halls in their malls in the City yet the airport is barren.

This is so true and a massive bugbear of mine at places like PVG. Surely you would be proudly showing off the local wares
Going slightly OffTopic but ive been to two of arguably the coolest food halls ive ever seen in my life in two different malls here.

One they transplanted all the old housing district they were demolishing to rebuild into the food hall to create an old school Shanghai feel. The old houses, the old phones, posters, fridges tv etc. You effectively get transported to what the kids from the 50s and 60s grew up in. And all the food hawkers are then sprinkled in.

We're currently skipping the first class lounge food at #36 because it's extremely sad and we stuffed ourselves with local eats at lunch. They do have a nice fancy tea so I'm pouring myself a few cups while my partner takes a shower.

Basically it's a collection of what I call "westernised" chinese eats and it's the China Easterns platinum lounge. Wish I could access 137 at their new satellite terminal, missed my chance last year. That one is supposed to be fancy only opening post covid.

Thanks, I do have a new job but dont really want to spend $700 on the annual fees as already have the Amex personal platinum card

All good might just go to 'The House' lounge and check out a few of the other lounges around

Does anyone know the access policy for Qantas First Class lounge in Singapore?

We are flying Emirates (Wife is in First class & I am in Business) can she enter the QF First lounge as an Emirates first passenger and can I enter as her guest?

Yes she has access to QF F lounge and can bring one guest traveling on same flight.

Even worse... this one has annual fees of $1,200+ (and $100 for additional cardholders)

Flying QF11 on Sunday landing in LAX at 14:20, with a layover of 5h 35min before flying QF3717 LAX - PDX at 19:55.

Reviewing comments here and online, I will be able to land, get past customs, grab luggage, bag drop then can walk either airside or curbside.

Did the same trip last year only (3.5 hr layover) and went directly to the Alaska Air lounge, which was ok, but nothing special.

My question is, it is worth stopping at T4 and going into one of the American Airline lounges instead of heading straight to T6 and going into the Alaska Air lounge?

Or do i re-enter TBIT and go into the QF First lounge, then make my way over to T6 for my flight.

My other plan would be to leave LAX and head to either a Panera Bread of In N out nearby, then come back to T6 ready for my flight.

If you can remain airside after transferring luggage (ie luggage checked through - so pickup, drop on conveyor and pass through security at TBIT), you can then move freely airside between all the OW lounges. Perhaps start in QF F and check out the AA lounge on the way to AS (the later is a broom cupboard, as you know - so don't plan to spend too much time there).
