Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Posting Guidelines
Please post your questions about Lounge access in this thread. Be sure to include the airline you are travelling on, the airport (and terminal, if known), and any Airline Status or Airport Lounge membership programs you have.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

(Special thanks to Princess Fiona for suggesting this new thread.)

As a general rule, yes!

There are some exceptions, depending on the alliance. For oneworld for example certain lounges are restricted at various times during the day due to capacity constraints. In some laces such as Europe you may be restricted on access depending if the lounge is in the schengen area or not.

But those exceptions are not all that common.
Thanks @MEL_Traveller - that's handy to know.

Taking into account what you've said does that mean that with a UA flight, leaving SYD late morning, that available lounges would be any of SQ, NZ, and EK (plus any via credit cards, such as Centurion)?

Likewise, for a QR flight leaving leaving PER late night, would only the EK lounge be available (would the VA lounge be on the other side of security)?

Is there anything stopping one from checking out each available lounge? Do any stand out?
Last question, I've read stories of flyers being disallowed lounge access, so would it be best to grab a lounge pass at check-in to avoid disappointment?

UA J BP or A*G status you can access SQ and NZ (next door to each other). EK wouldn’t be in play.

QR uses the NZ lounge in PER.

Many thanks @SYD.
Just for clarification, what is "BP" (I'm familiar with the other abbreviations)?

Is QF J at Changi operating hours correct in the morning? I'll be landing at 6:45 on a Thursday and wanted to see if I could grab a bite and shower before heading into the City.

Also is access for WP on arrival functional for SIN?

Not with Qantas international lounges, you need to be departing on Qantas, oneworld or a partner.

That is the first I have seen of it being open all day from 7:50am on Thursdays. I would believe the times are accurate, but a per the prior paragraph, moot.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Saturday:
2.45pm to 1am
Tuesday and Sunday:
7.50am to 10am and 2.45pm to 1am
Thursday:
7.50am to 1am.

Fair enough, although now that I have a same day departure on QF2, I should be able to hop in for brekkie then out of immigration later to meet some friends for lunch downtown right?

I can't see why not ... just need your QF2 boarding pass ... but don't tell them of your lunch plans ... ;)

Hi,
I'm QF gold.
Ive just been at the QF lounge in Adelaide.
I'm on a QF flight.
I wanted to bring a friend that is flying on Malaysian.
They let my friend in but said that technically they shouldn't be allowed in.
Is this right?
When I check the QF website it says:
Guests need to be travelling on a Qantas, Jetstar, oneworld or eligible partner marketed and operated flight that same day
So that says to me that they are eligible.
Thanks

I agree with your interpretation of the rules.

Even if the agent was thinking you're on a domestic flight and guest is international, it doesn't matter per the access rules are same for both when the member is on a QF operated flight. And besides, at ADL, the QC acts as both dom and int lounge anyway.

Frustrating, but glad you got your guest in.

Later in the year my wife and I are travelling BNE - SYD (QF No. & metal) then same day, SYD - NAN (QF No. FJ metal). I am assuming, as Platinum, I will be able to guest my wife into the Syd First lounge.

I'm going to Central America in a couple of months via two reward bookings, Fiji Air to LAX (business - QF reward) then AA reward to DFW (first) then SJO (business).

LAX was only going to be a 4 hour layover but now is 11, my understanding is that my AA ticket will not get me access to the lounge, and I have no status. Am I just best buying a day pass and if so to what?

Lounge pass is $79, but you may also be able to get day use rates at the Hilton LAX, for $119. But i think you have to be out by 6.

Flying Virgin OOL to DPS with 2 teens. Have dropped down to Silver with Virgin but I have QATAR Gold.

From what I read QATAR claims reciprocal GOLD rights for Lounge entry with Virgin, Great! Does this actually
work?

Can I access the Gold Coast VA Lounge with 2 children on a VA flight to Bali using QATAR Gold?!!

I found this: https://www.virginaustralia.com/con...Airways_A4_Digital_Flyer_R5a_FA_Screen V2.pdf

It's almost a year old but says I can enter with QR Gold + 1 Guest

So that leaves one child - I have a VA silver lounge pass that seems to be only for domestic lounge use.
I believe Gold Coast Lounge is combined International/Domestic. Worth a try?

Or I could pay $65 lounge entry for 1 child and all will be good?

All advice welcome!

I’d try and use the guest pass. Failing that $65 might be worth it, given you probably won’t get much for $20 each in the terminal by the time you split the cost.

Thought I'd revive this Worldly thread.

Having made an effort with SC earn this year, managed to get to WP last weekend.

I do want to check one thing, for upcoming flight, can I guest a friend into QF J and then a separate friend into QF F?
