We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions regarding what Airport Lounges are available at specific airports when travelling on specific airlines. While one can be assured of access at the airline lounge when travelling on that airline (provided you have Lounge membership), thing start to get complex when travelling on a codeshare or partner airline.

Apologies if this is not the correct thread… however I recently transferred some lounge passes to family, linked to their booking, and they were unable to use the lounge due to time constraints. Is there any way to redeem these unused passes, or are they burned when linked to a booking?

It's been "burned" unfortunately, they don't actually track whether they used the lounge or not (well, they might, but it doesn't affect the pass validity).

I've visited the QR SIN lounge when travelling on QF J (on an upgraded 'U' fare). With your scenario/s you should be fine, and even if something were to upset that plan, you still have options in Changi anyway, including the QF Singapore Lounge, which is 'ok'.

Well, no, a oneworld Business boarding pass gets you into the BA main lounge* which is better than the Qantas International lounge.

I was - QF J - so entitled to any OW J lounges, but I thought for the EK lounge you needed status to access when flying QF marketed? If not, then I’d suggest the OP give EK a go as well. I think of the J & premium lounge options it is the best one (I personally prefer it to the Qantas First lounge in Singapore).

@dairyfloss The access is both class of service or status based.

A business BP for a QF or EK marketed and QF or EK operated flight give access to the EK lounge at SIN.

I agree the EK lounge is the best QF/EK Gold option. The QR lounge may be the best QF Business option.

After C-19 and changing jobs I lost all my Frequent Flyer Status - which is fine and my ego is not hurting too much. However, having a flight from AU to Europe coming up I wonder if one of you may have an idea how I can get into a lounge in the following scenario:

Qantas Club Member and holding Qantas Lounge Vouchers.
Flying Qantas - but on a Qatar ticket, means all of above helps me nothing.

Any ideas on what I can do to get lounge access in Melbourne? Is there such a thing as a Qatar lounge voucher? (Happy to buy 0ne).

I don't mind Doha - the layover is so short - it would take me longer to find the lounge.

Do you hold any credit cards that give you lounge access? My son isn’t loyal to any airline so no status but he really enjoys the credit card lounge access granted by his cards.

QR uses the Marhaba Lounge at MEL INT and that has paid access, and is also available via Priority Pass. Details on the former here: Marhaba Lounge Melbourne

Which bit of the trip are flying QF? If it has a QF code then you ought to get pre-departure lounge access of QP.

Good stuff - much better value than the paid access, which is about double the $32 PP access fee (that's if you don't have a free visit or two to use)

So, I'm aware of the general restriction on Oneworld and Star, where the local airline (American, United respectively) doesn't qualify for lounge access even in the top cabin or with status, for solely domestic itineraries. And I understand this extends to Velocity status pax with the new United tie-up: no United Club access unless the same-day itinerary connects to/from a Polaris itinerary. (I remember the Delta tie-up used to be better than this, specifically for Velocity, although I think that was dropped a couple of years back?)

So, if I'm flying a United itinerary wholly within the US, in domestic "First" (say, LAX-DEN or DEN-IAD-EWR), can I access other Star lounges where they exist: Lufthansa, Air Canada, Turkish, or the shared Star lounge at LAX TBIT?

Hey all - flying out of PER in Economy in September on MH. I am QF Gold/OW Sapphire, and previously the Qantas International Lounge in T1 would have been available - but it's now closed

My question - on their website, MH lists the new Aspire lounge as their 'lounge partner' - has anyone been granted entry when flying economy but with status? Or is this only if you're flying business on MH? Thanks! (and apologies if this has been asked earlier)

Just an update which might help others in the future - as OW Sapphire, flying economy on MH, you are indeed allowed into Aspire at PER T1 - with one guest as well

You can if you have *A Gold on a program other than UA.
No status, no access.
