Lost points after reward booking taken less than 12months ago?

You can buy some truffles from epiqure. Or a few smaller bottles of wine to get around 1,000 points.

Points are normally added when the order ships.

Make that about 24 hours after purchase. I got my 15,000 points after placing an order Saturday morning.

Plant if you call and be polite you should be able to get a Qantas Points Challenge offered. Make sure the person who needs it is with you and then authorizes you to act for them. You will need their Account Number and PIN to continue.
Once you have the Challenge you will find Epicure purchase posts points in less than a day.
If you have to do 2 activities within a time limit you could use me as a backstop but I am away for 2 weeks.

The challenges I have read about all require earning a certain number of points (2,500 seems to be in the memory but may be wrong) from 2 different earning sources within a shortish time frame (30 days?). That's why Epiqure is so handy as points post quickly. A lot of the other places take 30+ days.

In terms of QFF activity I disagree with the assertion that points activity date is from the date of travel.

Consider: points are deducted when the booking is made to pay for it When flight taken, unless there is one of those promos for points on reward tickets, there is no actual points acitivity (plus or minus) recorded. per QFF system, it makes perfect sense that if booking was made in November, 2015 then 18 months later the account with zero points added or removed entered, anything left would expire.

On the 60 day warning, these are often burried in the newsletter emails that most people ignore. I personally feel this is underhanded and most other programs send a specific email, or note it when you login. QFF does not, and while putting a line in the newsletter email may technically meet their obligation to notify customers, it's hardly hilighted in flashing lights.

my 2 cents.

Qantas has been very Generous and provided a challenge to get points back(medical issues did impact family member recently)

I understand Epicure will get virtually all the points required.

For the second source that is required, what is RECOMMENDED cheapest and fastest way to get points credited?
Car Hire for a day?

From memory qantas cash loads points pretty quickly.

Register for qantas cash
Use your qantas card for a few transactions

Points should land in your account fairly quickly from memory.

Another quick option but not the cheapest is to get some gift cards from woolworths if your an everyday rewards member.

$100 David Jones gift card will give you 2000 everyday rewards points. They can then be transferred to qantas, you'll get 870 qantas points and from memory they transfer fairly quickly also.

Those points drop once a month.

Not so quickly, these points transfer across once a quarter. You are much better off using Qantas points mall which is 30 days.

:( will update if I ever get onto QFF via phone.........it should not be so confusing......your fly date that it activity on a QFF account as the rewards are used via the ticket......

As mentioned the fly date is irrelevant because zero points are earned, so there is no point activity. it's not confusing. the date the flight is redeemed is point activity as points are deducted from the account..

i find it so hard to comprehend that people have points that expire these days when you can use the Qantas cash card for free and points appear monthly..

Qantas cash loads in just over two weeks.
7 transactions made in may on a cruise and all points landed within 2 weeks . I just checked my transaction date and point landing dates.

And as for the woolworths points they are almost immediately.

I just checked my statements and they are within two days.

Hopefully I don't leave in any incriminating information.

It can take up to ten days for woolworths to serve the points after they have reached the level. But the whole process should take less than ten days.

All I know is that you shouldn't shop through ebay and the shopping mall, that takes ages.

The following are the only options to gain points:

Flights, Credit Cards, Hotels, Car Hire, Qantas Cash, Epiqure, Online Mall and Aquire transfers.

So Epicure purchase and Qantas Cash(place Au on card and use to buy stuff?) should be the two sources and points achieved?

Thats bizarre, I've had 4 transfers this year.

Maybe I picked up a bonus along the lines.

If all Qantas mail is 30 days then Qantas cash will be quickest but the most expensive.

You have to spend $4 to earn 1 Qantas point.

They would be the fastest yes..

If they had an amex platinum charge card then they could transfer points over too.

Qantas Assure is another way too, earning fitness points on the app but you need a policy to take out too.

i know this may be an unpopular choice, but how about taking a flight to earn frequent flyer points...,,

That would be my choice as well PlebS. I would probably make up most on Epiqure then a cheap RedE flight somewhere for the second earn source.

Edit: It seems booking a movie ticket through QF might be a goer as well.

It's actually surprising that this isn't a requirement as one of the sources to meet the challenge.

Not to me. QFF don't mind if you make the points overpaying for insurance, overpaying for foreign currency conversion, overpaying for hotels....
