LHR T3 lounge crawl Saturday 6 June 2026

Ok I am joining. Flying BA 870 to Budapest on the 6 June. I am quite familiar with these lounges, I even snuck into the BA First Dining on one occasion, the attendant didn't know to collect a pass, by the time the others realised they said I could just stay and keep ordering.

There will be a dress code on that flight!

I have enjoyed reading about this. Unfortunately I will not be there but will be there this Friday. (22nd) Zagreb-Hel. Via T3.
Sadly only three hour transit total. What is the best lounges ? I presume everyone will say CX F.
I was at Gatwick last week so have checked out BA. I have never been to an AA lounge so is that worth a visit?
Also QF in London could be fun. 🤩
So many choices so little time.

Also, obviously if any one is around, keen to catch up. It has been too long since my last AFF meet up.

Probably the CX lounge. Followed by QF.

I’ll tell you for sure in three weeks! 🤣

Obvioulsy CX is the best. But having flown out of T3 many times in the past couple years, primarily to Europe or the US, i can tell everyone it is becoming increasingly common for CX to not allow non CX passengers into their lounge, especially during the Summer months. So, if you can't do CX, the champagne is best in AA and the restaurant dining is not bad. The food in BA is subpar but the coughtails are better than anywhere else.

AY uses Qantas as their default lounge so you will definitely get in there. I have been denied entry to Qantas when flying BA or AA in T3 as well.

BA First at Gatwick is significantly superior to the BA First lounges at Heathrow T3 and T5 as you get First Dining even when you are flying the cheapest economy ticket to a dodgy Brits-abroad destination for sun in Spain.

Sounds good, thankyou. I read about the CX issues but gathered that was more if you had a different FF# on your booking than the one you were Emerald with? I will have the Peir (hopefully) on the way home next week anyway. So perhaps I will try AA and work it out from there.

On a slightly off topic, I did have to argue a little bit with the guardians of the BA lounge at LGW. My emerald bit had not shown on the boarding pass and she asked "which card I had?" I showed her my QF and she said to go to business. I had to politely inform her that QF platinum is OWE and that I was happy to dig the rules out if she required.
Not sure if I convinced her but she just shrugged and then pointed to my left in the direction of the F section instead.

There a little green oval on the lower right off the card and the word Emerald that may have convinced her. (The shrug may have been body language as in OK, you are right but i don't want to discuss it. )

As per earlier posts, CX lounge access is often a timing issue. Rejection is more likely to occur during their peak times which are currently mid to late morning and early evening.
