Received an email to advise that -
Coming Soon! One of Jetstar's biggest ever sale events...
It then went on to quote previous specials like -

  • BOGOF (The two for price of one specials)
  • Launch Fares (e.g. Bali $149 ow inc taxes)
  • $18/$22 special events
It implied that it will be a Jetmail exclusive event, so only those signed up will be invited to participate. http://www.jetmail.com.au/emf/

At the end of the email it states -
SIGN UP YOUR FAMILY AND FRIENDS NOW FOR OUR BIGGEST EVER SALE EVENT COMING SOON.
Hope the prices/availability/routes meets the hype!:D (And the site doesn't crash.)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

What do you reckon the chances of that happening are?

Actually, with the recent GC titans sale ($20 nett flights) they were limiting access. An an initial web page had been implented that would only let you go further if "sufficient" system resource was available.

In this case, the site did not so much as crash; it was more of a case of being extremely slow once you got in.

Once in I was able to check availabilities for several days, although slow. I had to refresh quite times to get my $40 return booking to HBA in August.

I've yet to have one of these over-hyped Jetstar sales that I could actually use the website. Every single one has denied access.

I have a place to be, and when I need to be there, so maybe JQ will have a good offer for getting me there. If they do, I hope their site works for me :)

At least Virgin should come close to price matching the sale when it happens.

Unfortunately, given the past, DJ only seems to match JQ domestic regular "sales". The previous promotions quoted in the email (18/22, 2for1, JQi launch fares) have not been matched by Virgin!

In my opinion, those fares mentioned above are some of the best Jetstar have ever done (so far)…so if their “biggest ever” sale is going to beat them, I hope we are in for some incredible deals system-wide.

Hopefully for StarClass. Actually I would like to see a good StarClass sale (like others here!)

Dunno, but QF's domestic NZ sale still hasn't been loaded - some 15 hours in to the 24 hour sale period

Yes, I’ve noticed your discontent over that, sprayed liberally across the Internet!

sprayed liberally? I've posted about it only on AFF and on FT, and until now I think just the 1 thread in each place.

Sorry, the metaphor wasn't meant to demonstrate quantity, so much as the action being used. ;) i.e You appear to be pissed off.

Perhaps they just used to loading it ready for Tuesday sales?

Ah got it, and yes I am. Pax shouldn't have to go through such hoops (nor the poor call centre who then get callers like me who want to know every flight available  on multiple routes on multiple dates), and it does seem poorly handled.
