Hi

I am travelling starclass from MEL to BKK in Feb.

Is the starclass boarding pass any different to the economy boarding pass?

Reason I ask is, the security guards before the immigration que always ask to weigh your carry on if you are in economy. They let you through if you have a business qantas boarding pass.

Does the boarding pass have your FF number on it? Does it have your status eg: FF GOLD?

You are allowed 2 carry on bags for star class right??

thanks

Here's an image of my BP from December:

Your are allowed an additional carry-on in
jq.jpg
Class. The security guards should be aware of this, so with STARCLASS printed in the centre of your BP you probably will be OK:
Cabin Baggage

The total weight of all your Cabin Baggage must not exceed 7 kg. This includes 1 piece of hand baggage up to 48 x 34 x 23 cm per person

Plus

For International flights to/from Australia operated by Jetstar (JQ):

StarClass passengers: a second piece of hand baggage up to 48 x 34 x 23 cm per person or a suit pack. If you are carrying a suit pack, it must not exceed thickness 11cm, width 60cm and length 114cm when it is unfolded.

That is correct; the only place you may see a QFF number printed in on your original e-ticket PDF.

I still was able to access the F lounge ... ;)

I'm travelling again next month myself; will see if anything has changed.

How many SC and QFF points can I expect to earn from MEL to BKK in STARCLASS?

I am a QFF GOLD, OW SAPH.

I tried using the QFF points calculator but doesn't have MEL to BKK listed.

thanks

Use Great Circle Mapper to determine the approximate number of miles between ports.

The add any class of service bonus (Star Class earns same as business class on QF, so that is 25% bonus).

As a Gold member in StarClass (one way) -

Base Points - 4573
Cabin Bonus - 1144
Status Bonus - 2287

Status Credits - 120 (not 100% sure about this one)

Jetsaver -> Star Class upgrade on the PNR web page

(Hi, I may have missed it in a search, so apologies if this is the case).

A couple of questions re. trying to buy a JS->SC upgrade in May for HNL-SYD

My Mid/Late May SYD-HNL Jetsaver flights have the button to attempt a star class upgrade, but on the following page pricing is there but availability is blank, suggesting no seats available.
I'll keep checking, but it makes me want to check on if my flight is now full in Star Class.

1. How can I check the seat map/inventory for JQ flights for Star Class?
Realistically, I' happy to keep the economy seat SYD-HNL but get two Star Class seats on the return.

Flight JQ 4. Dep HNL 09.15 Arr SYD 15.45 (next day)

2. HNL Star Class lounge access: Is the HNL AA/QF lounge classified as a QF lounge for JQ SC pax, or is a QC membership still required?
I guess if it is a OW lounge then it will be off-limits to NBs like me.

Thanks for the asistance!

Before the morning JQ/QF Flights to OZ the HNL lounge is a designated "Qantas Club"; Later on, after those flights it turns into an "AA Admirals Club".

AFAIK, flying StarClass gives you access when it is a QP.

ExpertFlyer shows inventory for JQ flights. StarClass shows as J or D inventory. It does not seem to show the seatmaps for JQ flights.

Start a "fake" booking (on jetstar.com.au) for the dates you are interested in... [select the star class fares, agree to the terms and continue with booking, type in a title, f-name and l-name, then click the seat assignment button.]

Personally I would do this the other way around; i.e. get StarClass seats for the overnight SYD-HNL flight and do the coach seat thing on the all-daylight Return flight.

Thank you, serfty; I'll have to check that there is a Thursday morning QF flight on 31 May, HNL-SYD, so that JQ star pax can get access. :p

I think this promotion is over. (Please someone prove me wrong.) My guess is, based on my observations of the way JetStar's website works, the (email linked) promotion page is not taken down after a promotion, thus you can still visit it… but when you try to use the page it will not return a result.

If StarClass is not full on your flight, I have noticed that you may be offered the opportunity for an on-departure paid upgrade at the airport (first come first served).

Currently, HNL QP operates on all mornings when there is a JQ departure, irrespective of any additional QF departure. :)

Does it actually operate as a QP or as its normal Admirals Club mode when no QF service?

QP, with the QF staff, QF hand tissues in the toilets, a good selection of pastries & fruits & other food, and a couple of cans of booze in the fridge… All of which, I have noticed, disappears when it morphs into AC! :(

Nothing wrong with AC.

Reminds me of NZ's lounge at LAX. Some other airlines use it during the day when no NZ flights. The food and drink on offer are decidedly worse (still okay though) than later on for the NZ flights. Its well worth waiting until the VS etc boarding calls are made before sampling the food on offer.

Can someone give me any ideas what is a good seat in Starclass on Jetstar. I went to Seatguru but nothing on Jetstar. Any other sites I can try?
Thanks
