Stolen from the BNE QF international F-lounge menu? :)

Oh dear! I had it and I thought it was just a chicken sandwich. It will taste a lot better next time, now that I know it's been on the FLounge menu :).

Edit: I just realised that the menu was from the BNE FLounge, so it doesn't really count!

And how come they call it a First Class Lounge in BNE (rather than a First Lounge), they don't even have any First Class seats from BNE?

You'll know as there will be menus and place settings set up on the table/bench in the Island Dining area across from the buffet. If the menus are there, just perch yourself on a seat and look hungry ;). There is usually a staff member wandering around who will ask if you'd like to try the item from the menu. My only experiences have been in the evening. I don't know if they do a morning or lunch service.

I'll be there in the morning, a little earlier than that... depends when you arrive, might see you in there?

Never had island dining for breakfast, only for dinner.

Actually I arrive at 5:10pm...

Lucky I checked that itinerary after all lol.

That should be in time for dinner I presume?

SYD and MEL certainly 6PM for Island dining. In SYD there is island dining breakfast which tends to be the same yogurt and muesli (I hate muesli).

I'll be here at that time, look for a young g in a red shirt with Russian on the back, and a red Qantas cap on the table in front of him. Then you'll have found me.

Noticed an enhancement this morning though... I absolutely love the croissants in here, and instead I get egg Florentines. That said, they're very tasty.

Impressive Sam!
Nothing like that here in PER QP now.. Best offering is toast & vegemite :(

Is that this evening samh004 and Longrass? I'll be dashing through BNE J Lounge this evening after 6pm, depending on time to drive from OOL. I'll keep an eye out for you samh004 in case you're still there.

Should be around for a bit, having dinner, and waiting for the traffic back to the GC to dissipate before I drive home ;)

Edit, apologies taking thread off topic.

I specifically picked a 7PM flight instead of 6 to experience Island Dining in MEL. Although placemats were set there were no menus. I asked a waitress who said it "starts at 6:30 or 7?" I asked her if it was 6:30 or 7 and got no response!

The in flight meal (a proper meal on a tray) was paste with pea and ham and had almost zero flavour.

Is that the paste I used as glue in kinder ? Sounds awful

The past couple of times in the last month or two they have said it starts at 6.30 when I asked (at 6.15 with no placemats and menus etc) to which they only brought the food out at 6.45...

RedRoo - is this another enhancement?
