Was working again about an hour ago, now back to the:

"Flyertalk forums are temporarily offline for maintenance and updates. We thank you for your patience and understanding. We expect to have the forums back online soon, please try back in an hour."

Was working, but seems to be completely cactus at the moment.

OT of course, but the online Census site definately impressed me. Much thought, planning and testing went into that site.
Do you think I wasted 15 minutes of my time filling in my parents' census manually? Could I have done it quicker online considering that I am the only one in the household that works and most questions were about me anyway?

Only if you have broadband connection :p.

At least some people were home for the census. I got to sit in my hotel room filling it in. Had to find out the address of the hotel!

Its back up again.
Hi,
It's good to know it's not a firewall issue ;)
I get this message:
"Flyertalk Forum is undergoing database server upgrades the site will be unusable until finished".

This is with the normal www. address rather than www2.

Thanks for the running updates!

I believe there was an outage today for maintenance. By the time I got off my flight FT was back up.

It was certainly down for a while yesterday.

FT is certainly alive but since that new LUXOR ad appeared at the top of the screen, I'm being bombarded with pop-ups and ads that appear in a new screen. I've also got a couple of "a recent attempt to attack your computer was foiled..." messages. Am I alone with this problem or is there something rotten in FT at the moment?

I had a phase of pop-ups and alerts telling me that pop-ups were blocked, but seems to have passed.

That happened to me too and I do have a pop up blocker whic was set to medium level. I reset it to the maximum level where no pop ups at all can happen unless I put the website on a safe list. That stopped the Luxor ads on FT.
