Yes but Singapore intercontinental had a seperate lounge for parents with kids to enjoy the benefits, SC wouldnt accommodate.... Lucky for us we had a teenage relative also staying who was happy too babysit!

Thanks for that markis10. I hadn't read the Federation Suite description but I had seen the other descriptions and there seems to be little difference between a Qlder and Homestead suite except perhaps a second balcony (with midges, I'm thinking wouldn't be used a whole lot) and maybe a bath.

I've now booked the Club Marina View room (for two bookings of BOGO PP specials) for just on $200 per night and I see one of the bookings has been modified already to a Qlder suite. Does anyone know if the Qlder suite upgrade will get a marina view (as the original booking was specifically booked as the marina view room) or do they just give us whatever is available (ie possibly a garden view)? For what it's worth, to book the Qlder suite (in order to get a Homestead suite) was IIRC about $250/night, so can anyone comment as to whether or not the Homestead is worth an extra $50 per night? We'll be 2A,1C but our teen son may also want to stay a night or two (so possibly 2 x trundles).

The Queenslanders would be tight with two roll aways, the homestead is a lot more spacious.

IC SYD and Sc are the only two local ones with such a rule, ADL IC is brilliant with kids in the club, in fact it is the best club of all apart from the lack of views.

Just a warning - no children under 18 allowed in Club Lounge in the evenings....

Yes thanks for the reminder. I did ring ICSC to ask about that (as I thought sure I'd seen under 12 not allowed....that must have been SYD) and they told me it was Qld liquor laws that prohibited it.........sounds like rubbish to me. The liquor laws prevent kids from entering a public bar, but there is no such problems with lounges. I'm assuming the IC SC club lounge is not a public bar!

On a similar note, my booking is clearly for 2A, 2C and when I've asked IC SC about breakfasts previously (a couple of weeks ago), I was told breakfasts were either in the club or buffet as complementary with the club room rate for all occupants. I checked on that yesterday after making the booking and the guy who answered the phone told me the third breakfast was extra as the rate is for 2 people. I got him to check the booking and he agreed the room was booked for 3 but again said, breakfast was for two . I note the IC SC web site does not seem to explain the club rate anywhere that I can find, so I'm not sure who is correct...the lady a few weeks ago who told me it was breakie for 3 or the guy yesterday who stated it's only for 2 ?????? When I rang this morning to check on the under 18 ruling, the lady said my 12YO was welcome in the club at all other times apart from the times alcohol was served, which I'd guess means breakfast.

Can anyone clarify if the club rate includes complementary breakfast for everyone on the booking, or just for two?

We had breakfast included for two but they never charged for the kids aged 4 and 7 for a weeks stay over Xmas last year.

I have a stay next weekend with the following:

2 DOUBLE BEDS CLUB MARINA VIEW

I am RA, any ideas what this might get upgraded to? It's a bit cheeky to ask when the rate is $137 a night ;)

IC SYD have a poor attitude to loyalty. One key reason I didn't chase RA renewal or indeed patronize the property.

Perhaps none. I have the same booking, but when I telephoned I was told there were no higher rooms with the 2 x dble bed config. The guy did then say he could do a Qlder suite with a rollaway, which I accepted and he modified to show it. It was only later I wondered if the rollaway would be charged separately (I think at $70 per night). I've since changed my bookings somewhat, to secure the three night requirement so tomorrow, I intend calling them to see about the upgrade and if the rollaway is suggested again, I'll ask a question about the cost.

May I ask how you managed a $137/nite rate? I've just got $179.50 and I was pretty pleased with that (given the same booking from the previous week was $199.50), but your rate now makes me quite envious ;).

I booked this around the time they first opened where you could score $99 a night for the most basic room via PP.

I was there in July.
Booked and paid for Club Marina View, and got Queenslander Suite ( as RA upgrade ).
Two nights for price of one ( PP offer - no cert. required ).

I booked for 2A + 1C, but actually had 2A + 2C, and we all had breakfast in the main restaurant, and didn't pay anything.
They did do a little checking though, but it was cleared that I wouldn't be charged for ANY of the children.

I'm still unsure whether a club room booked for 3 includes breakfast for 3 or not. When you say they did some checking, what did they check and when?

Upon presenting to the counter to be seated, the staffer noted how many persons, and asked aged of kids.
She then looked up the guest register, to see if breakfast was 'included' in room rate.
Initially, she said no to comp. breakfast for both kids, then made a phone call to front desk.
Someone there Ok'd it.
( I actually had two other adults with us, and paid 1 x breakfast, as used my PP card ).

I will have 2A and 2C. I was only able to book with 1C online. Do I call before hand and say I have a second child or chance my luck when I get there?

Many thanks for the prompt reply. So perhaps RA made the difference? We have a club room booked so I'm guessing (expecting) that will include breakfast for everyone on the booking (2A.1C). I think I'd be pretty annoyed if they say club access (ie. breakfast) is for 2 only!

When is your booking? Mine is next week, so I'm happy to try it on for you and gauge the response. (I actually enjoy throwing in some curly requests). Evidence is that the rooms can take 2A + 2C and I might try it (though my 16YO will most likely not be interested in "wasting" his holidays with the oldies). Note though, I'm only Plat.Amb not RA so may not get the same response.

EDIT: Just noticed you've already stated your booking is next weekend......so you can tell me, or better still, if you're still there next week, I can help you finish off your RA minibar ;) :D
