We are there from 22nd - 28th.

Err, I'm a little red faced now.

We've been and gone and not noticed this post. My apologies MiLK_MaN, hopefully we conversed without knowing it! I'm a 50(ish) gent with a wife and 12YO daughter who loves the water.. I trust I didn't misbehave (much), but more importantly, you and your family had/are having a great holiday! ICSC was superb for us and I hope you've found the same!

I'm not sure if the Mods wish to move this to the "Hotel Experiences and Reviews", but since there's already a number of reviews here, I'll leave it sit for the time being anyway.

We found ICSC to measure up in almost all respects. The room given was their QLDer suite. As a suite, this room is a fail. Please do not mistake my sentiments....the room is lovely, big separate bedroom, big bathroom. But the living areas are small for a suite. So for a honeymoon couple who never leaves the bedroom....great! (I'd have been over the moon).........for a retired couple who require cough for their most joyous moments in life.......great! (I trust I never need the tabs). For all others.......living areas and "add on" benefits like club lounge and breakfast are key to a great holiday and although not perfect, ICSC does indeed weave the magic.

The club is awesome. The resident host (for 20+ years) is impecible with his attitude, his knowledge and his truly genuine desire to interact with his patrons. The chef is unreal with his/her presentation and clear skill with food service and delivery. All up, I did not wish to vacate the club lounge upon the call for "last drinks gentleman", whereas with Hilton SP, I don't think I've ever reached that point.

The facilities for guests are lovely. Huge lagoon pool, big normal pool and large attractive heated spa. The beach is nice, the poolbar refreshing and the kids are happy.......need I say more?

I think I've found my new "Reno Relief"......even if they don't realise it! ;)

Nice review! I've been considering a stay here with extended family with the current PP offer!

I had a nice stay there in the school holidays. Room and all very nice, except for a pokey little shower, with hardly any light and a little shower curtain. Are all showers like that?

I just didn't get the reference to cough ?

Silly comment originally intended to throw a humerous light on the fact the bedroom was possibly larger (as large at least) as the main living area......hence ideal for those who wish to spend all day and night in the bedroom.........

What are you looking for, if it's lazing by the pool the IC is hard to beat.

Crowne is well located with a tram stop right outside which makes both Surfers and Broadbeach an easy commute (or you can also walk fairly comfortably to either). The beach is not far away nor is the casino, however the hotel itself is fairly uninspiring (but acceptable) although it does have nice views to Surfers if you get that side. The revolving restaurant is OK to do, but once is more than enough.

ICSC is further away from anywhere (car is required) but is nice to laze by the pool if you're into that, or walk around the marine village. Of course Sanctuary Cove is on two championship golf courses and does have other charms (like any number of nice restaurants). As markis10 said, depends on what you are seeking and for how long, both are very different establishments.

Thank you quite a bit of lazing by the pool, sounds heavenly, explore some of the worlds, like to come back to a nice hotel at the end of the day, that also offer a nice club lounge. Thanks Markis

Club lounge is most definitely nice at ICSC. None at Crowne.

Thanks Swanning..it. Mr Kea thinks the golf course is worth the stay alone, appreciate your feedback

The club lounge is good but like all bar Adelaide, no evening admittance for kids.

What about a 12 year old?

Not at Sanctuary Cove. 18yo min. (I think SYD is Ok for 12 and above IIRC)

Quick Edit: I have seen under 18s in there and nothing was done to remove them, but they were well behaved, the club was not crowded and no complaints were made by others although I did overhear a lady make a snide comment. (They weren't my kids either).
