I started drafting an email to IHG about not being able to register for this promotion and went to get link for IHG 2017 book direct promotion and I was able to register.

I have deleted your post, when you subscribe to a thread there is no requirement to also post in that thread with the word subscribed, as this act does not add any value to the thread.

I have stayed once last week - 5,000 points posted immediately PLUS 500 points as a "welcome" bonus...????? No idea why but not complaining

The welcome bonus is something the hotel would (should) have offered to you at check-in. It's a choice between some points (based on your status level) or a drink voucher.

I too received a 5,000 point bonus for my stay at Crowne Plaza Narita ( Tokyo ) Airport.

I also got 600 points per night, including for two that were Rewards Nights !!

Yes, I just checked after reading your post and it went in on the 15th. Now, where is the last 10k? Hopefully not too far away.

Quick update. I was talking with IHG over another matter (points not reversed when cancelling a booking) and I asked about the 10k bonus points for this promo. The lady placed me on hold for some time (10min, give or take) and finally returned to state that there was a problem with that promotion and she had credited my account manually (shows up as a "goodwill" entry on my account activity).

Been slow off the mark to register my first stay against the AMEA promo, but the one on the weekend has kicked me off. Now to get the other two.

My bonus of 1K posted as expected:

In my limited experience of one stay, it did stack.

I can answer NZ on Friday (or when points post) but I am fairly confident that it is considered APAC.

hightide, I am similarly interested as I registered for the AMEA promo (6 April), booked on 18 April then waited until I got the IHG email on the Q2 promo before registering for it (2 May). My stay last weekend has posted but I was only confident the AMEA would post (which it did):

Well I'm confused. I've stayed a total of 4 nights, 4 stays and in 3 different IHG brand hotels since registering and what I've been awarded is not exactly what I thought I'd get. Any clues? (all bookings were made via the IHG web site)

IHG told me they regularly have issues with PNG hotels not crediting correctly. They agreed it was an "earning" stay and manually credited the points and stays (mind you, I haven't yet checked the points are correctly showing as tier earning, or whatever they call it).

Apparently the 3 stays don't have to be in different brands. I thought they did, but others have reported the points being awarded on just one brand.

Just done my 3 stays. All at CP Canberra on different days. Got the bonus points except the last 10K .... Not sure if it is issued at completion, or at 31 December when the campaign finishes?

There is a general lag of days to a week in posting the original stay and then there can be a further delay in crediting of Accelerate bonuses (up to the time period shown in the T&C's).
