I just watched my status change online from Silver to Gold after completing my first ever JASA status run. I am pretty happy with myself and I can't thank this forum enough for helping me on my journey.

I wouldn't know what a Business Lounge or JASA was without you guys - thanks again!

Congratulations and long may it last.

You should realise you are now on the slippery slope of becoming obsessed.

If you do you're in the right place.

Thanks :D

Status runs are oddly surreal - I'm used to flying to see a client or go prepare for something. Going only to pick up a stubby holder as a souvenir and then getting straight back onto the plane you just got off is really strange. Liberating feeling almost, knowing you choose to be there and don't have to immediately go do something.

Congratulations on SG --- Maybe you should change you handle from userlame to userempowered or userresurrected? :p

Well done on making SG - will certainly make travel a whole lot better having lounge access!!

Congrats. I kinda know what you mean. Flying after encountering AFF is a WHOLE new experience. Pay attention, and you will be at least WP before you know it!
;)

Good on you. As stated earlier you now may be on the path to an obsession, or more appropriately an addiction!

What JASA did you do? - always looking to collect stubbie holders LOL !

SYD - CBR J (737-400)
CBR - SYD Y (Dash 8)

40,000pts total. Got through a few chapters of my book and more than a few drinks.. all up not a bad way to spend a Tuesday afternoon.

Oh that's no good for me, sounds like my normal work trip without the J leg (unfortunately). I did have an interesting one booked to Adelaide prior to making WP last year that my better half thought I was mad for wanting to do, but I didn't need to use it. CBR is not a bad spot for finding interesting ones from.

In mid 2011 when I did my double points status run, did CNS/TVL/BNE/DRW/BNE/TSV/CNS overnighted in TSV both ways, on departure from Townsville arose at 5.30am got to bed at 10.30pm long day it was, passed silver went to gold, I'm now casing Plat. (yeah i got the bug).

Congrats! I find I get the most done on the small regional flights since there is no distractions. Even better when the returning flight gets canceled and you are stuck in the regional lounge for a few hours.

Congratulations! I'm new to AFF and really appreciated the helpful threads showing me how to maximise SCs. Enjoy SG, see you in the QP!

Welcome to the slippery slope of FF'ing! I remember posting something similar a couple of years ago, and now I'm WP and I've spent so much time in random airports and planes (regularly flying over my final destination), but LOVING IT! Enjoy!

Good effort! I'm sitting at 720 SC. Figuring out how to pull the other 680 with a full-time study load.

Well, almost exactly a year after making Gold, this morning I just watched that Gold turn into a Platinum.

My sincere thanks to everyone here for helping me do this status alchemy. :D

So, what's next?

Excellent work! I am doing my first status run on Sunday and hope to hit Platinum for the first time mid-March.

So what's next? Firstly, try and enjoy an F lounge experience. Then isn't the challenge in keeping it :)
