We all know about the story called the European lounge lizard.
I have been in the ADL QPd for about 2 hours, and have about another 2 hours to go before my flight out.
I scanned my QP card at the reader, nodded to the staff member, she didn't bat an eyelid.
Maybe when we scan our QP card, it does not show a flight #, or does it and the staff at the QP counter can ignore it.
Have been getting bits of nibbles, wasting time, waiting for time.
So, time wasters are us, QP members, on QF Australian domestic flights (as a QP member), how long have you spend in a QP?
Mmm, I wonder if I can be gotten to be moved on?

I don't think there's a maximum time allowance.
Not sure my sanity would survive more than a couple of hours in a QP (the F lounge is a different story).

Depends on how much work you've got on. I've found then great for catch ups, report writing etc, and that's my main benefit when business travelling

I've spent the whole day in the SYD Domestic J Lounge before... it's a great quiet place in the back corner to get some work done, while having access to refreshments when required.

about 4 hours in the SYD Dom J lounge connecting on a HBA express run, I think my record in the SYD F lounge is about 6 hours (my HKG flight got cancelled and I got put on a CX flight instead)

I missed a flight in PER once and spent 5 hours in the QF lounge there. It wasn't too bad, I did some work on my laptop while eating and drinking wine. Pretty much the same thing I would do at the hotel (my destination), just in a different lounge :p
I spent 6+ hours in the BKK F lounge a few times between connections but when you get 1 hour complementary massage and a private room there is really nothing to complain about :)

My aim is to spend the least possible amount of time in the QP as possible. I generally have better things to do with my time than spend it at the airport.

However, I did spend about seven hours in the BNE QPd a few years ago (before the J lounge) when a delayed BNE-PER flight did not leave BNE until ~01:30 AEST.

5 hours is the most time I've spent in a domestic lounge (SYD, heading on to ADL) without going stir crazy.

Even then I most probably cheated by switching between the J lounge and QP lounge a few times (for a change of scenery, and people seem to move quicker through the showers in the QP compared to the J lounge).

3 hrs is my oomph time so far.
1pm to 4pm.
Hoping something would magically appear food wise.
Nothing did.
But I can't wait till tomorrow. QFi as a JQ pax in business plus bundle.
Oh. And no, no one chased me out from the QFd QP.
Ok, back to the serious stuff.
I will now try to keep to the gist of posts.
Thanks all.

On Friday we got to the SYD J lounge about 8 hours before our flight. So early we could not even check in. We were however offered an earlier flight so only stayed 5 or 6 hours.

I would say 3-4 hours waiting for connecting flight.

I have spent longer that than in international lounges overseas. I have even slept in some of them that are open 24 hours.

One memorable Monday at LST where a 146 carked it - we were there from12:30pm through 7:00pm.

The fridge was emptied of beer several times.

They eventually flew a 737 down for the pax of three flights.

JQ and QF are smart about the dom pax on int flight though, can only check in 3 hrs prior. And at airport only.
30 mins immi and int security bites into lounge time. Or even more.
My 4.30pm one is coming up this arvo.
Hope JQ10 is still on.

I spent most of the day in the CBR VA lounge a couple of months back, without even flying at all. Arrived at 8:30 am for brekky, then set-up in the small meeting room and ran a training session for a colleague until about 4 pm. I stayed on for 'dinner' and drinks of course and then took a cab back to my hotel around 7 pm. Pretty solid effort there!

Longest I've spent is 6 hours. Although admittedly I got bored after the first 2 and wandered over to MEL's other terminals just for something to do for an hour. This was because I was doing CBR-xMEL-PER and my original CBR-MEL flight was cancelled so they put me onto an earlier flight.

I've certainly clocked up a few hours at the PER QP when flying red-eyes simply because come 8pm I have a choice, stay in the city and pay for a drink or three or go to the QP and get a drink or three for free.

Around 7 hours in CNS a few weeks ago... service was cancelled and we had to wait for a replacement to fly in. All up the delay was around 5.5hrs .... the staff did a grand job feeding us.

The most time in a domestic lounge is about 5 hours, which coincidentally was a couple of weeks ago in SYD J. Time passes quickly while sitting at the benches observing people.

Record for SYD F is 6.5 hours. Spa, lunch, bottle of Rockfords Basket Press, trip to the J Lounge downstairs and dinner back upstairs filled the time before a three-hour flight to WLG.
