How early can you check in international flight in MEL

I'm sure someone must have asked this question but I couldn't find an answer in the top results.

I'm flying QF157 from MEL @ 23:35. What's the earliest time I can check in international flight (with luggage). I heard Sydney you can check in any time of the day but not sure if Melbourne is the same.
