Holidays - Help Mr! & Mrs! choose their destination

Mrs! and I are having a crisis. I want to go to Europe for Christmas, she wants to go to SE Asia.

Where do the other FF's go for their annual holiday if anywhere?

Last holiday we went to NY, London and Cyprus... personally I wouldnt be going to SE Asia - not a massive fan and a passionate dislike of Thailand in particular...

Rule One (though I have broken it on the odd occasion) - go somewhere warmer than where you currently are!

On a serious note, I like to revisit places I have enjoyed, but take in some new ones as well.

But aside from that i thin there is so much to see and do there i'm hanging out to go back...

Go overseas - to Fraser Island! You can fly in, fly out! Actually we have been known to set up Camp Deluxe not far from where the planes pick up/set down just north of Happy Valley. Fun to watch those tourist clicking!

If I only had one holiday a year, or once every few years, I would go to Europe and maybe one or 2 other places on a RTW. South East Asia and Thailand in particular is by far my favourite destination with 15 trips already behind me and another 2 scheduled for this year. Hopefully many many more in the years to come.

This is what I´m doing at the moment as I sit in the Sala VIP Lounge at MAD waiting for flight to BCN. Have already been to Germany, Austria, Hungary, Czech Rep. and Greece. Lovely and warm. Next to visit son and daughter in the US on the way home to Australia

Its easy ... choose a destination that has the type of weather you and the Mrs prefer.

For me, I like the place to be warm, tropical, relaxing and this usually involves sand, surf and sun! I like to be able to wear my board shorts, a tank top, my sunnies and head out for a casual day.

Forget the cold - I dislike layering up in thermals, jumper, jacket, beani and a scarf.

If you told me right now, Whistler or Bondi Beach? I'd take the beach
