There's a new Hilton status match offer available now. As per the old offer, you get Gold status for 90 days. If then stay 5 nights within 90 days, you'll get to keep Gold until March 2023. Stay 9 nights to get Diamond status until March 2023. This is half the number of nights required compared to the previous version of this offer.

Interesting, I logged in and it said “Member eligible for status match” …. Despite currently being Gold (due to free extensions all the time).

Have the rules changed that now allow existing Golds to go for Diamond?

I don't believe it's always on, but they certainly seem to run them frequently. It's a challenge rather than a match, and so it's probably a pretty reasonable short-term earner for them.

Also if you are going for Gold....to keep your status you need to stay 7 nights within 90 days at a Hilton hotel so this would depend on your travel arrangements.

Planned myself out a challenge pathway from IHG Platinum to status match at least to HH Gold for now, with a 2 night vacay stay in Sydney and 5 nights in Perth. Might be worth noting the HH points earning available along the way:

• New member bonus of 1500HH on the first, and 3000HH on second stay
• Double up and Explore promotion until end of April - double points each stay, plus additional 1000HH each time you stay at a different brand
• Plus you can stay on 2X Points Package for stays (if it suits) and receive double HH points, for a total of 4X points, plus 2,000 bonus points for a weekday check out.

Not sure how the double up and 80% Gold bonuses stack - but overall I expect to earn over 45k HH points as well as Gold until March 2024. I will report back to stays and results once the challenge is completed, but looks like a well timed deal to me!

Has anyone had success trying this when already Gold but trying to Fastrack to Diamond?

I tried years ago without success.

I thought I was dropping back to Silver this year and so I could give this a try again but the HH system is hinting that I’ve been comp’d Gold again or maybe that’s just until the end of March? I also have the VA Gold in my back pocket…

Report: I had trouble signing up to the status match and experienced slow processing time, with my initial application on 9 January rejected on 12 January (I think my surname wasn't on the IHG screenshot I sent) and my subsequent reapplication eventually sent for "review" on 28 January, and processed on 2 February after I checked out my first 2-day stay (27 January).

Having missed out the member benefits - 80% Bonus points, upgrade, late checkout, and F&B credit - I sent an email and politely asked for this to be "fixed" and/or compensated - "goodwill" gesture of 1,500 points barely cuts it given over 5K bonus points alone which were lost

All the other promotions worked well though - Double Up & Explore Double Points and brand bonuses, plus new member Welcome Bonus.

After my second stay, 5 nights at DTH Northbridge (Perth), I still managed to accumulate over 43K HH points.

Now I just need an excuse for 2 nights somewhere in the next 60 days to lock in the Gold; unlikely to make Diamond

Hmm, account is still showing Gold on 3 April USA time. I was supposed to have dropped to Silver and I can’t see the message anymore telling me that I’ll drop back.

Meanwhile my SM application of IHG Diamond was rejected. Not sure why.
a. I’m still HH Gold? or
b. the webform only had “Spire” and I sent a copy of Diamond status?

Edit: I’m assuming “a” since I’m still Gold which is mentioned here.

Hilton Gold Trial Match & Diamond Fast Track 2023 Update (Status Valid Through March 2025)

Hilton has updated Honors Gold & Diamond fast-track requirements for 2023, and the status from the completed challenge is valid through March 31, 2025.
