Agree that it should. I will be booking blindly as they have always been this way in the past. If T+Cs are out then I suggest just having a quick read to see if pre existing bookings are counted.

I have gone the other way. This 'poor' offer from Hilton gives me the incentive to go for the IHG Rewards Big Win promo instead.

Although I do still have a few HH bookings left to do this year to retain diamond (for a particular 2015 stay), I'm in the same boat. With many Oz Hiltons now pricing above their value (SYD, HSW, HSP, HBNE, HPER), the alternates are looking more attractive, as is no status for status sake. Funny old thing loyalty.

Thank you for responses to my question, boomy and Cynicor. I will ring regarding my potential bookings on Monday or Tuesday. I hope to book a 4 day stay in Xian, a 4 day stay and a 2 day sty at a different Hilton in Beijing and 2 reward nights at the Conrad in Hong Kong. Hopefully, that should generate a few points with my Gold status.
