Anyone noticed that HH points and associated FF points are rarely allocated until you expedite them. Keep joining, giving up, etc,etc

Quite the opposite; in over 25 stays I have only had to chase up ONE!

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Copenhagen, LHR ( worst of the lot). Birmingham and Cobham in the last few months - only Cobham was good. And, of course, KL many times.

QF Plat etc, etc

Nope - mine work well. The only problems I've had is when NZ changed to airbucks it took them many months to sort out the data format with HHonors providing stay information correctly :(

When you check in and check out do you check your information bill that your number is entered correctly?

I've only ever had to chase one as well. And I am guessing it was from the same fateful weekend in Brisbane.....

I find HH points and my associated airline points post fairly quickly (3-4 days HH points, ~1 week airline points) most times.

I have had to chase up a couple that didn't look like they'd post automatically tho.

Note that HH doesn't transfer points to airlines every day. It appears they batch them up and send them regularly (I've been told "at least" twice a month, but I think it's more like once every week or so).

Now the one item I tend to have to chase up is bonus points (normally hotel specific bonuses). For some reason they don't tend to post automatically to my account. So if staying on a bonus eligible rate, make sure you keep details of the bonus applicable - and preferably a printout/pdf of the bonus offer screen.

I think we all had problems that weekend. Hilton must have had computer problems and then forgot to transfer the points of people that missed out. Anyway fixed now....

yeah I noticed this matey! Other Hotels to avoid are Quest and Medina, they take for ever to process, and they give you the run around when you call them about the points not being entered!

Never had an issue with Hilton.

Points, bonuses, free nights, special promos etc all post like clockwork for me.

Except for the one stay [OzFest III in Brisbane this year (as alluded to in several posts on this forum)] no problem in a total (now) of 25 stays in 18 months; two as award stays.

(That's 21K QFF points and over 27000 HH points, not to mention the 40K bonus points as well)

Isn't that weird.

We stayed at the same hotel on the same nights in BNE mid year.

Well all mine posted just dandy. ;)

And I ended with a free room night anywhere in the world as an end result, so that bonus posted nicely too.

Well, I have been a member of Hilton Honors sine December 2005 and done about 10 stays, mostly in the last 6 months in CNS, on Gold level, which they simply sent me (presumbaly becuase I was Platinum with QF???).

I have never been credited QF FF points despite the correct number appearing on my check in and invoice details.

I rang them yesterday (finally) and was told

1. My QF FF number was assigned to another member
2. There was nothing they could do about that
3. The only thing they could suggest was for me to contact the airline and check that I had the correct QF FF number (a bit rich when I fly most weeks and have had the same number since Feb 94!)

Eventually I got onto a supervisor on their Diamond level care team and after much debate finally persuaded them the problem was at their end (bad data entry or someone quoting the wrong number, etc) and arranged to email evidence of my QF membership number.

However, they refused to credit any more than two of the ten stays! Even though I told them the CNS hotel had had my QF FF details from Dec 05 and it wasn't my fault their had been an werror in assigning my Qf FF number!!!

Fortunately, the local front of house manager at CNS, recognising my monthly patronage, has now undertaken to forward copies of all of the invoices to QF.

So it's a 3/10 to Hilton Honors hotline and a 10/10 to the Hilton CNS.
