Thanks SponsorSFC. All sorted. Out of interest, how long did it take for your Amex credit ($80) to be applied?

Ozb has someone reporting spending over $1200 at one hotel/transaction and being credited $240. Anyone else experienced this?

100% bonus on points purchased from 5K or more - that's up to 160000 Honors points for USD800.

Ends May 28th 2019.

For me, it is right on the cusp since I value Honors points at USD½¢ each.

I am tempted but not sure if I would use them. Not always good value either, for example AUD$140 or 25,000 points.
$$ is cheaper.

Something's funky is happening - +1 got $80 credited to her account. Her card probably got a preauth for our stay in Adelaide which was booked through Amex. Even so, the preauth amount is way less than $400.

Yet to actually spend $400 but have secured the $80 Amex cashback, courtesy of a $100 then a $50 hold being placed on my credit card on two check-ins. They were refunded but the $80 credit stuck. Nice.

Stays...damn, I have 8 stays planned but a few are multinight with multiple choices in those cities. Hmmmn, probably not worth the hassle for 10K points.

Not exactly one transaction, but I did spend 2x$900ish charged at the same time (as I was booking two rooms) and I got $240 credited. Hope it helps.

Doesn’t matter that it’s targeted, if registration successful it should work.
I always try to post affiliate links to support the source. Cost me nothing and helps their business.

Fair enough, but I tend to just reference the blog, or whatever, rather than lifting their affiliate link.

i'm gold via amex charge card, 0 points, never stayed at hilton as yet.

thinking of buying points during the current 100% bonus promo, however cannot for the life of me work out how many points per night it is at the chosen fiji hilton. I've ticked the points option before running the search, however the results are always in $

EDIT: looks like i can see points pricing if i NOT logged in, then I log in and the points pricing disappears! WTF
