I already have a Conrad stay planned for next week, stays planned but yet to be booked for Perth and Adelaide Hiltons in January; so it looks like a trip to MEL is in order before the end of the year. I might even have to visit the SYD Hilton (if I can get one of my vouchers to work for me). CNS is also looking good for a visit. There doesn't appear to be any geographical limits, but which ones are participating??

My target is 7 stays for 70K points before the end of Feb. I am not going to make that requirement. I have generally qualified for HH Diamond through nights rather than lots of short stays. However, last year I qualified on all categories - nights, stays, and base points.

My other half got a similar promo, 4 stay for 40,000 pts I thinks. On the other hand I got a promo for double airline miles until Feb 28 - a great chance to build those Air NZ dollars.

I could possibly make 4 stays for 40K points. But it seems the more you have done in the past the higher they set the bar (and the reward) .

Indeed NM, that was the same conclusion that I arrived at after a brief phone call with IainF. He got the 5 for 50K promotion and he has ~ the same stays/nights on the running YTD as me.

Last year I received a tripple points offer around this time. I made copious use of it! Alas, I think they decided to give me a much harder target to attain this year - it must have cost them big time last year.

One stay I got the tripple points bonus from the offer, plus I had booked a special rate that was offering tripple point, plus my diamond 50% bonus, plus the 50% bonus for not double dipping - I ended up with about 7 x base points for that stay!

Just a reminder that this targeted offer closes on 28 February.

I was lucky to be checking my Hilton account to see if recent Hilton stays had posted, when I realised I was sitting on 5 stays in the time period.

So Mrs LW is now being taken out on Saturday night to the Hilton Brisbane, dinner and a movie.

I too received an offer email from HHonors last weekend, but I deleted it without reading it. Why? Because I spent $14,000 with Hilton between April and June 2005 and still have not received my HHonors points, despite numerous phone calls to them. Hilton is not getting any more of my business until they sharpen up their inefficient, incompetent HHonors act.

Well, thanks to Hilton and my wife, I qualified for this promotion last night. Admittedly, I used the occasion to spoil my wife for the night; however I did tell her why I wanted to stay at the Hilton. She had no problems as she likes the finer things (upgrades, etc) that I can provide  8)

I had booked the February e-Special package ($265 - 20%); so ended up costing me $212 for overnight accom (upgraded to Exec Floor with Hilton gift of Lindt chocolates waiting for Mrs LW  ), free car parking (well it cost me an additional $4 in tips) and complimentary breakfast for 2 in the Atrium Cafe (Mrs LW loves their Hash Browns, which aren't available in the Exec Lounge).

Next to Atrium Cafe is snazzy new Below7 Bar with excellent female pianist/singer who was there until midnight. Hilton also threw in two $5 gaming vouchers, but we weren't in the mood to fight the smoky Lounge to give back the value of the vouchers.

Now to wait for the stay credit to post, then for Hilton to award the points (no doubt, that'll take a month or two :p ).

I sent HH an email asking about promotions with the following response dated yesterday:

    Thank you for your email.

The marketing department handles which members are targeted for certain promotions. Targeted promotions usually factor in how much has the member traveled, how was the member enrolled i.e. from a partner promotion, referral, website etc... Unfortunately, there is no way to guarantee a promotion is sent directly to you. However, I have extended a fast track to Gold VIP status. If within 90 days from today's date, you record 4 stays or 9 eligible nights your account will automatically be upgraded to Gold status.

    What a wonderful offer.

I currently require 2 says before the end of March, 3 stays before the end of April or 4 stays by the end of April re regain Gold status. Who's kidding whom here :?:

sometimes that blindness goes in your favour - eg the 6 cat 6 free nights I earned through bookings I already had in the system (with one minor tweak to get an extra stay to max it out).
