Hilton - $50 credit for $250 and above spend on Amex

Note it does NOT say the booking must be in Australia it say's you must book in Australia. MY bet would be that if Amex get a charge from the merchant code used by Hilton Australia you will get the credit, Amex will be giving the rebate based on the merchant code not the physical location of the hotel.

So I think the answer to this question depends on how you book rather than the location of the hotel. Via the Australian Call Centre very likely to get the credit, direct with the overseas hotel, almost certainly not. My understanding of the website is they dont have location based website so once again probably not.

How are prepaid stays charged?? - By the actual hotel (ie. AU code) or by corporate (potentially not count

Has anyone booked an overseas stay via the call centre ? and willing to pull up the transaction history on their CC statement?

This is mine booked via hilton website for SG conrad stay.. Obviously this will not have the right info required for amex to credit me.

I am curious to see what an Aussie hilton stay booked via hilton online would say..

Have registered. Plenty of time to work out if a Hilton stay is required.

I have a prepaid stay in 2 weeks at Hilton AKL and "hilton head office" came up on my credit card statement.

Here's the T&C:"spend $250 or more in one or more Eligible Transactions"

Does this mean:

  • "Spend $250 or more in [each of] one or more Eligible Transactions", or
  • "Spend $250 or more in [total over] one or more Eligible Transactions"
?

If the latter, I can benefit, if the former well I'd have to spend additional.

If it's like other Amex offers it would be the latter. I.e you can only receive one statement credit per registered card

That's the answer to a differnt question.

I am aware it's one credit per registered card.

What I am looking at is if one has a $135 stay and a $185 stay at a different property for a total outlay on the one registered card of $320 will the $50 credit apply?

I hope it is the latter as I have 2 stays coming up...the first for $348 and the second for $477....if I can split the 2 bills over 3 Amex cards, I could save 3x $50!! ie Pay $348 as $250 (card A) and $148 (card B) for stay 1, then $250 (card C) and $222 (card B) for stay 2....what do you think?

.

We are both asking the same Q here....from my reading and interpretation of the Ts and Cs, it doesn't have to be a single $250 (or more) transaction, but the total transactions on the same card need to add up to $250 or more...but I agree there is some ambiguity and really there is only one way to be 100% certain...trial and (hopefully not) error:shock:

That is how it works with other Amex offers with the same wording

I am curious to see what an Aussie hilton stay booked via hilton online would say..
As an example of Aussie Hilton booked via Hilton website:
HILTON SURFERS PARADISE SURFERS PARADIS (missing the e, not my spelling mistake)
HILTON CAIRNS QLD

I must say, the only downside of this is just $50 per card. Oh, well, beats a poke in the eye with a sharp stick!

For those suggesting multiple cards to get the $50 on each, just be aware the cards must belong to someone else and cannot be a supplementary..

Offer only applies to spend on this Card. It does not apply to spend on any supplementary Cards on this account or any other American Express Cards you might hold.

Supplementary cards are eligible - they just need to be registered separately from the primary:

Full terms and conditions available here
...
Supplementary American Express Cards or any other American Express Cards you hold qualify as an Eligible Card only if registered for the Offer separately. Where the Primary and Supplementary Card number is identical only one registration can be made per account. ...

I think slightly different for bank issued cards and an Amex issued one. For the first you register your card, in the second this appears as an offer against your account with no way to register your supplementary.

But I have 3 x Amex cards

Thanks for posting this Aeolus. Registered for this as soon as I saw it and booked Brisbane Hilton just before registering. $50 already credited to credit card. I love AFF !!! Have saved $$$$$ in the last week.

Just had a brainwave, I know it said it has to be booked via Hilton Aus, I book all my stays though the iPhone app and HHonors website, will this be eligible?

I think I read someone was going to report back the success or otherwise of doing the web booking with an OS stay (I'm assuming you mean an OS stay?). I'm not overly confident but here's to hoping!

Yep, Hoping for a stay in AKL next week.. But have two Australian stays the following week so will be useful either way.

No one seems to know the answer, waiting on the first person to try it.
