As someone who has trouble logging more than 350 credits annually on QF domestic metal (and shares international travel amongst several airlines) I just wanted to ask the question:

How many status credits do "real" diehard QF flyers rack up in a year. Obviously its got to be more than 1400/1200 but how many in a good point year?

Anyone willing to share their best years totals?

I've been averaging 2700+ SC's for the last 4 years. All domestic economy. No international at all.

But watch me get blown out of the water in about 5 minutes!!!

My highest annual earn was a touch over 3500. Lowest is 0 (for the last two membership years :p ).

Translating my current year to SCs rather than AAdvantage I would have racked up 6000... thankfully I saw the light ;)

How accurate is your Spreadsheet? :p

BTW, 6000 SC equates to 66,666 QFF points in Loyalty Bonii

Last year (ending Mar 07) 4200, this year 2120 with a DONE4 still to come.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

There are some opportunities for enhancement (and I could actually finish the bloody thing) ;)

However in this qualification year 1 Oct 06 - 30 Sep 07 I had:

syd-sin-syd - J
syd-hkg-nrt-hkg-syd - F
syd-bkk-syd - W+
DONE4 - 35K
DONE4 - 38K
syd-hkg-syd - J
DONE4 - 45K
DONE4 - 25K (end of trip was in Oct)

That is just plain stupid!

Which is not even enough for a discount Y -> J upgrade one-way trans-Pacific. While making EXP he earned 8 x eVIP upgrades on AA. Some loyalty bonus  .

A couple of years ago it would have been 13 UC's. :-|

Rhetorically, can an AA elite use those eVIPs across the Pacific directly betwixt SYD and LAX?

It's for this and other reasons that I suggest that if an Oz based frequent flyer has sufficient annual travel to get top level on both QFF and AAdvantage then they should do it (put just enough travel to QFF to get/retain QF WP, then all the rest to AAdvantage).

Can a QF FF member upgrade Trans-Atlantic? or Trans-North-Pacific?

Unfortunately I am not one who can maintain top-tier status in both programs, so have chosen to forgo the top status for the redeemable awards benefits.

Can a QFF member confirm an upgrade at time of booking and get it for zero miles cost? Also, it costs more miles to upgrade discount Y - J on QF lax-syd , than it does for the J award

Going back on topic, my best year was 2385 (1 March 01 to 29 Feb 02) which included an F RTW.

My worst year has been 0 (I think)

A moderator bringing 2 other moderators back OT.:D and yes I know I take em OT as well.

Trying is the operative word. Not usual for both of them to go off...but I'm not perfect either.

I would expect it to be more than that.
Last year I did 1320 SC's and got 116000+ points, surely 6000 would just under 5 times this ?? [ It was on QF metal of course ] , but even a mixture would be at least 3 times.

I believe the reference is to the amount of 'Loyalty Bonus' points that would be earned. At the rate of 5000 points per 450SC's the sum looks right.

This would be in addition to the points earned from the flying alone which should be a fairly high figure.

I've only had 2 years in QFF thus far - 1880 and 3400 SC's respectively. Probably should be able to requalify for PG and LTS this year.

Before that I was averaging 1 BNE-SYD return per year in Y.

How my fortune has changed!:D

Yeah - times do change - I was flying prop jobs down to Dubbo in 05 and today's flight to BNE was a little confusing for me - I didnt understand why I was onyl just getting started on my tasks on the laptop when they said to turn it off!!!
