The weirdest thing once happened while watching the sky and I've always been too embarrassed to discus. Maybe Frequent Flyers or pilots could sympathize or even explain:
Lounging on a deck chair opposite my sister on a very humid evening, many years ago. Staring up at the clear night sky, totally sober, no drugs involved. I saw what appeared to be a couple of very bright single lights hovering independent of each other, very, very high in the sky to the right. I lazily observed for a few seconds, never once questioning them as I subconsciously reasoned it was an airplane of sorts. They stayed in the one spot, then slowly moved left. That got my consciousness alert and I focused on them intently. Their trajectory and speed was totally inconsistent and far too slow to be a shooting star, plus how many stars shoot in pairs?
Without warning, they suddenly streaked left across the entire sky - one a little faster than the other. Then they just disappeared.
You know that inner voice that whispers "something's not quite right here"? Part of me was still trying to reconcile the argument that it was a plane. The other half was protesting "NO WAY - planes don't fly THAT fast in tandem"
No need to call me crazy. I feel silly enough writing this.
