Guesting into lounges query

I can confirm that it works out fine. Turn up at the lounge, no prob getting thru the man down stair. To the front desk,

Lounge dragon (LD): guest must be on the same flight, sir.
Me: I have checked with QF before coming here.
LD: I have to check with my manager. LD turned around and ask the lady next to her.
Manager: yes, that is fine.
LD: but...
Manager: charge it to QF99.
LD: welcome sir!

In short, QF has now come to term that they have to follow OneW rule.

Now watch the reactions of the front desk staff when AFFers quote 'QF99' without prompting when arriving with a guest not travelling on the same flight.

I just want to update our return trip. QF lounge SIN.
We went to the lounge just after it has opened for the day. 2 girls at the front desk. Same drill:

Lounge Dragon (LD): Mr Longtoo, guest must be travelling on the same flight...
Me: please check with your manager. OW rule applies and here is the confirmation from QF.
LD (did not look at the screen shot of my online conversation with QF): Please wait for a moment. (They turned around talking privately to each other) Please take a sit (there are no chairs at the front desk at SIN as you all know).
Me: waiting for a bout 3-5 min. Another lady came out.
The lady: Mr Longtoo, we will make an exception for you this time.
Me: This is not an exception. It is our membership entitlement. I showed her my online exchange with QF agent.
The lady: could you please email it to me. (Unlike her staff, she was interested in the info. She gave me her business card (duty manager of the day)

Summary: OW rule will apply but please be persistent.

We have no status with QF and are flying JL SYD NRT as an AA redemption. Are we permitted to guest into the QF lounge?

Are you travelling in a premium cabin? Do you have any status with AA or another Oneworld airline?

Yes, travelling Bus Class - no status, Bronze QFF.

It seems not unfortunately. :(

From the Qantas website regarding the Sydney International Business Class Lounge you as an International Business Oneworld customer are entitled but no guest.

"Next onward flight that day must be on a oneworld operated and marketed flight.#

No guest allowed."

Thanks Stevo - we thought we might have the opportunity to guest someone from the forum into the lounge given we wouldn't be in there without all the info we've gathered from the forum.

FWIW, Under Qantas specific rules, a PAX flying QF J can have one guest who must be traveling on the same flight.
