I have gold status and am flying to the US in a few months in economy. I can be added to the waiting list to upgrade for a business or premium economy upgrade, but have to choose one. Do you think there is a higher probability of getting one over the other?
Thanks!

Assuming you're flying on Virgin Australia?

Basically, you'll be able to upgrade to either cabin as long as Reward Seat is released in the higher cabin on that flight. Seats could be released in either cabin, but likely only ~1 week before the flight.

If you provide us with your flight number and date, we can check the current flight loads to give you a more accurate answer.

well you'll be behind any plats so really it's going to be difficult to know.

Yup, Virgin. I’m on VA 23 on 6 July and VA 24 on 19 July. Thanks so much!

That's right at the start and end of school holidays, so expect those flights to be full.

A lot could change between now and then, but at the moment it looks like there are more free seats in business class on VA23. Coming back, it could go either way really.

well you'll be behind any plats so really it's going to be difficult to know.

This would be the case on Qantas, but doesn't Virgin have a different system?
