They said they will round up, I reckon everyone will get less then 10points

That would essentially mean that 1 in 10 Velocity members is actively engaged with the program. Personally I doubt that... I'm betting it will be around 40 points. :p

200 points, this would imply 35,000 people joined the promotion, but I reckon they've rounded up.

I only got 400 (myself and significant other) cos I forgot to enter my 2 kids. stupid me.

A good outcome for doing nothing...

I would say that far more than 35,000 registered but VFF rounded up to 200 points to avoid the criticism which would have arisen if they paid say <50 points each.

Not a lot of people follow promotions like this so i'd say a lot of people could not be bothered / didn't know

I cannot recall if the emailed this promotion out or if it was a Facebook/Twitter/Website promo only

That doesn't speak well for how many engaged/active members of the program there are. Especially if you consider many members probably registered multiple family members. Those 35,000 members represent half a percent of all their accounts – 0.005% – and as previously mentioned, probably a little less than that considering multiple registrations.

I would love to see how the numbers compared with a similar QF promotion, but I doubt they'll be so foolish to expose themselves.

We should argue that the description says 7 million points so we all want 7 million points

I'm not sure if the numbers are "dire". I only knew of this due to AFF and I would consider myself a pretty active member. I didn't see it on FB, website, Twitter, no email. My guess is it was probably a (relatively cheap) testing tool to see how active their members actually were on those channels, dressed up as a promotion, and even at that level probably provided pretty decent breakdowns (e.g. differences in user activity, status, demographics in response etc).

Essentially a Trojan horse? :p

800 points via the family pool. Not too shabby at all!
