Some interesting anecdotal info came my way today that maybe gives pause for some perspective. My Indian colleague who lives in New Delhi, India emailed overnight with some peronal info re the horrific situation over there. He tested + last week but was only very mildly sick for about 2 days. Everyone else in his extended family (as is common over there he and his brother and their wives and children all live with his parents in the family home) has subsequently tested negative. All have had the Astra jab, the rest of the family had both jabs, my colleague who tested + only one so far, in March. Given everything going over there I think its extremely fortunate that they were all vaxxed as otherwise the outcome could have been very different. Of course, they are pretty well off and probably would have access to better healthcare than the general population. Probably how they all got to be vaccinated in the first place as I think they still haven't vaccinated very many people there.
