General attitude towards lounge service staff

When I was giving them their chocs, the FA said that I didn't have to do that.

Me: Oh yes I did. You HAD to glove up!
FA: Oh, Honey. The things I could tell you that Ive had to clean up over the years.

I think there should be medals issued to the cleaners of the world. Having worked in a cheap hostel in my travelling youth as a bathroom cleaner I can only add... the horror... the horror...

I always thank the person who clears my table in the Lounge. I always thank the person who serves me a coffee or a beer. It's basic manners that sadly, have appeared to go by the wayside these days.

I say 'good morning' to the staff who are restocking the food/beverage offerings. I say 'thank you' to the clearing staff.
I think it's good manners ... sadly most people are so up themselves nowdays ...

I agree but those that are stuck up don't realise that their attitude often comes back to bite them on the b....
A good example today. At the hospital I am always conscious of the ward clerks. They often get ordered around by nursing and medical staff.Quite often looked down upon sadly. But they do some important things such as organising test appointments. So when 2 doctors ordered an urgent nuclear medicine test today and only 1 spot available guess whose patient got it-the one who always greets them, asks how was the weekend and thanks them for things done or the one going for an Imperial gong-the CMG(Call Me God)?

And then there is KCMG (Kindly Call Me God) and GCMG (God Calls Me God). The last one is for people who talk on their phones in a phone-free zone.
Please don't start.

Like the guy in the BNE business lounge on Friday. He was sitting down somewhere in the lounge and then started pacing up and down the bar and food area on hands free speaking loudly in Spanish. Occasionally stopping to speak louder. And the person at the other end wasn't doing much talking.

Aarghhhh. But I don't expect much from people who are so far up themselves they ignore those around them.

Sounds like my office. Easily a dozen rooms on each level available for people to pop into for a phone call or if they need to have a quick meeting but they seem to prefer to either wander around on their phone, or have meeting in the lunchroom when other people are trying to have a break.

If my phones rings while I'm at lunch I always duck out of the tea room and either into the hall or back down to my own office. No one wants their lunch interrupted.
