For those more interested in the factual issues, apparently the new Directive SD 1544-09-06 is what you are looking for. As well, says "Increased Airport Security Screening from any non-U.S. location TO the United States:
For all flights departing from any non-U.S. location TO the United States, the TSA has issued new security screening measures." Yep, the new paper with printed word hath been laid upon us.
And yes, at least on inbound international flights to the USA, no inflight WiFi or inflight flight positioning information at any time during flight, as well as stowage of pillows, blankets etc. and lav ban, personal item stowage, etc. one hour out do seem to be part of it.
Be upset and fight back, but don't be surprised on your inbound flight to the USA.
