Struggling to use your Frequent Flyer Points?

Frequent Flyer Concierge takes the hard work out of finding award availability and redeeming your frequent flyer or credit card points for flights.

Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, the Frequent Flyer Concierge team at Frequent Flyer Concierge will help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

Out of interest, which wine does she like? I often struggle as the closest store to me seems to have limited stock.
Hi PDog, she likes Stoneleigh Sav Blanc over any others for some reason. It's often between $9 and $11. Good value when buying one in multiple transactions each getting 1000 points.

This new promotion Coles are doing for vacuum sealed containers (which is a FB promo too), is completely laughable.

Spend $200 and you get the smallest container. The pump requires a spend of $100 more.

These are nothing more than Vacuumsaver Flavia model knockoffs.

I got the email which said you get various boxes for a certain number of points, but I didn't see how many points you earn per dollar (on the email) - is there a table somewhere?

As @drross has correctly said, it's $20/point.

While this promo is simply a byproduct of just doing regular shops, the spend requirement is silly.

Thanks! Will give it a try next offer!

Probably not the right place for this post however just wanted to alert members to how fast fly buys points are transferred and credited with velocity.
This morning I transferred points over to avail myself of the 15% transfer bonus and they showed up in my velocity account within 5 seconds (!!!) of me hitting the send button on the fly buys page.

Members who urgently need to get a few points over to velocity would find this very handy.

It's a pity that Liquorland is generally $5 more expensive than Dan's or First Choice. I did a sample of 10 items - sorta nullifies the 1000 points.

Although I do see some cheap wines for $4.00 and the T and C's don't mention about restriction of 1 use per FB account, so if you did 100 transactions, you'd get 100,000 points = $500 for the cost of $400. You'd also be stuck with 100 bottles of cheap grog...you could drink them, have a party or leave them at random places around parks for opportunists to grab them.

I took part in this promo after carefully reading the T & C's and bought 12 bottles in separate transactions expecting to receive 1000 points per transaction. To date I have only received 1000pts. Flybuys were a bit rude on the phone like it was my fault! I wish they would be specific in their T & C's.

Have you got a copy of the terms of the offer? I thought I recalled seeing it limited to once only.

Here it is... I believe they had another similar promo after this one and my guess is they may have altered the T & C's for the latter promo. My read with "transaction's" (plural) was that I could make numerous transactions within the "wholesale quantities". What do you think?

Thanks. There definitely is a limitation clause contained in the terms. In my view:

'Points not awarded on purchases deemed to be wholesale quantities.'

Allows them to limit the number of times the points be awarded. You described in #388 purchasing 12 separate times. I think the terms stated could encompass this situation.

But I'd also agree that the terms could be clearer. I know in other promotions they say something like:

'offer only available once per membership'.

I hope the wine tasted nice!!! :)

Yes, I agree but I will never believe that a punter buying a dozen bottles of wine is "wholesale quantities"! If someone bought say 3-4 cases ok, but according to Flybuys they were never going to get more than 1000 points anyways! So if the promo wasn't intended to be on individual purchases then why put the "wholesale quantities" clause in?

Can someone confirm that that the bonus points for a promo like the current 2000 points for a $50 giftcard for Netflix, Uber etc giftcard is per once per FB account, and not 2000 points for each type of giftcard?

For eg, if I buy a $50 netflix GC and a $50 Uber gc, I would only get one lot of 2000 points. That's right yeah?

Once per account only for the entire offer. Clearly stated. And it's been this way for quite some time.

it's probably standard template content that wasn't proofed. Sometimes @flybuys leaves content in their TandC which isn't supposed to be there. Example is the "Not to be used in conjunction with any other offer." This applies to a small amount of offers, but it finds its way into the TandC of the majority of offers. I queried that with them in another thread.

Received this targeted email today.

"to say thank you for being a Coles Insurance customer, we have an exclusive offer for you.

Simply take out another policy - whether it's a Comprehensive Car, Home or Landlord Insurance policy - before 5 August 2019 to collect 10,000 flybuys BONUS POINTS.*

The more policies you take out, the more points you'll collect. For example, if you insure one car with us, you'll collect 10,000 flybuys BONUS POINTS. But if you have three cars in your family and you insure them all with us, you'll collect 30,000 flybuys BONUS POINTS!*

And don't forget, you'll also collect an EXTRA POINT for every dollar you spend at Coles with each policy you have (excluding Third Party policies).+

So bring your insurance to Coles today and be rewarded! "

I already have both comprehensive and home and contents with Coles but after reading the T&C's saw nothing that would seem to prevent me cancelling and reapplying again.

Went ahead with an online quote which showed both policies were cheaper than my current ones. My comprehensive car policy was around $150 cheaper despite only renewing it last month. (I did an online quote last month to see if there was any difference to my renewal).

Called and spoke to a supervisor who also assured me I could cancel and renew to qualify for the 20,000 Flybuys points for two new policies.

As a bonus the refunds from the old policies will be transferred to my bank account rather than the CCard I purchased them with.

Saved close to $200 and (hopefully) picked up the Flybuys bonus pts.

Might be worth checking if anyone else has Coles Insurance and received the offer.

Getting a lot of Coles petrol offers lately. Choose 10c per litre discount or 20pts per litre being the latest today. Able to use multiple times.

From a recent Liquorland offer (1000 bonus points for $20 click and collect buy) I purchased a bottle of wine for $20. When the confirmation email arrived it showed the total as $19.99 and only 19 points to my Flybuys A/c.
I hope they don't use this as an excuse not to award the 1000 points bonus.
