PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Being in he Y fare bucket your chances are likely to be better (High fare class and/or PCV).

Some W+ PAX may be upgraded to J (& J to F) freeing some Y+ seats.

I'd put that request in for PE only.

We are all gaining knowledge and experience minute by minute - you should not hesitate to post your considered thoughts -

TBH, with the flight in 3 days it may be almost too late ...

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Hi guys,

could I have the load for QF7 on 28/12 please? Tried using flight stats but failed miserably. Ive got a discount Y to J request in and wondering if I've got any chance. Already received a generous 1st lounge access card from AFF so this could be icing on the cake.

separate question that may belong in the QFF thread- would it be worth accepting the upgrade if its into a middle seat? The 3 in the middle doesn't seem so appealing, particularly the bulkhead in row 5 which didn't seem to allow much room for the middle person to move.

cheers

So only Y+ is quite full, front and back relatively empty. Good chance for a points upgrade depending on status.

You will get allocated a seat after the upgrade is confirmed, but then you can change it. There is no accepting/rejecting an upgrade. If you're travelling solo, both 5B and 5J are both empty.... (not sure what what 3A is thinking, the fool)

What is your status?

Silver. Syd-dfw will net me 50 sc to get me to gold 3 days before membership year ends! After reading countless threads here and receiving a DSC offer I changed a few flights to JASAs to kick me over the line.

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Hi all

I have an upgrade in for the 22nd December business to first on QF9 to Singapore. can anyone advise the current load and probability of obtaining the upgrade?

Many thanks

Re: Seating Availability/Allocation/Configuration Help Desk

Have upgrade requests (to Y+) in the system for my teenagers on QF15 (BNE to LAX) on December 28. Also hoping that the remaining 3 of us might score an Op Up. If someone would be kind enough to check loadings and consult their crystal ball it would be much appreciated.

I see little chance of Opup there, but v. good chance of points upgrade to Y+, or even Business.
Thanks, good news for my kids. The rest of us are booked in Y using points and the system says upgrade not available, so I guess we are stuck.
