PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Re: QF 10 waitlist

I'm a SG, trying to get on QF10 LHR - MEL on Sep 24. It's completely sold out.

Just wondering if someone with the software e.g. expert flyer etc.. could let me know of my chances of getting a confirmed seat.

QF 10 is A380 and also i have fully flexible ticket and i am not sure if that will make any difference.
I am not sure if I understand your question completely. Do you have a confirmed ticket? Or are you waitlisted for the flight? If you have a confirmed ticket, then as a Gold FF member you should be able to select a seat using the Manage Booking function on the QF web site. If you are waitlisted for a ticket on the flight, then EF stats are not going to help determine probability. Its just going to show that the flight is sold out and you need to hope that someone cancels.

The booking reference number and surname would help us clarify what is going on here!

What i meant is that i don't have confirm ticket and been listed as wait-listed on QF 10 flight. I have Y class fully flexible fare. What i want to know is that QF 10 being a A380 with lots of seat is there any chance of my wait-listed getting cleared?

re: Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

Thanks  Also my girlfriend -also SG - has a D to F request in place, and she applied for it a few minutes before I did, so now there's at least 2 in front of me.

Hope you fared well.

My WP friend got the upgrade, but we think it was an op up because he was told he was unsuccessful when checking in - and then the BP was swapped at the gate :) (no points have been deducted, and the booking still shows him in business).

re: Flight Availability/Loadings & Upgrade Probability Help Desk

We were not as lucky as your friend and had to make do sitting in J. The cabin was completely full.

I missed this query - we were on the same flight with separate bookings for the two segments, LHR-SIN in L class (part of a LONE4) and SIN-MEL in V class (separate booking).

I guess LHR-MEL takes priority, we used points and were upgraded to PE LHR-SIN and and Business SIN-MEL.

Re: Loadings for QF 93 12 Oct

Could someone with EF advise the current loadings for QF93 on 12 Oct?
Thanks in advance!

Ok best apporach I believe is to do your seating in Y to be comfortable. Dont plan for an u/g. I travelled recently with one other and we had a spare seat between us both ways, and the plane was chockers.

Seat forward, it is quitier, say 50/51, how many in your party? What seats do you have allocated at present?

I also found the prem desk very helpful, spoke spoke to seating.

hope that helps, Spruce.

Re: Loadings for QF 93 12 Oct

Thanks again,
Currently seated forward in Y with 3 others. While it would be nice to dream of that phone call or Op-up I am a realist and am content to get what I paid for (although I paid for it back in Mar and should have waited a month or 3 and saved plenty).

Where are you currently seated dolphin?

As WP you're ahead of most. The numbers imply they're not selling any further tickets (all classes 0). Exactly what the makeup of seats on aircraft vs classes booked only QF will know. An UG would be a possibility, as it may be oversold in Y and they may be in fact overbooked for seats totally, so they've closed bookings, however........

it may also be they've sold every seat in all matching fare classes so your chances are zero.

It would be interesting to look at the numbers as the days count down as they may have some full flex fares move flights, particularly in premium cabins, which improves your chances.

I'd wonder if your chance on the 744 (QF6) is better, in the event of an aircraft substitution (as that typically results in less total seats, which may be why it's zero'd out).
