PLEASE INCLUDE DATE, FLIGHT NUMBER, ORIGIN & DESTINATION IN ALL REQUESTS
>>>> ADDED BY ADMIN (6 Sept 2010) <<<<

Background to this thread
We have noticed an increase in the posting of questions about seat availability on specific flights. These are all valid questions and we all appreciate the efforts our members go to to provide answers.

The only drawback is that our forums can become "cluttered" with specific questions about availability on specific flights. This tends to reduce the overall usability of our site.
We have therefore created this new consolidated thread where you can ask questions about seat availability on specific flights. Hopefully, this will reduce clutter and improve useability.

Guidelines for posting in this thread
Please post questions about availability of specific flights or upgrade probability in this new consolidated thread. Be sure to include the airline, flight number, date, origin and destination and any other relevant detail.

When answering questions, please include the original question. This will assist in readability and management of the thread.

Thanks!

For Questions about Aircraft Configuration and Seat Availability, please use this thread:

See this thread for hints on how to read loadings:

If looking for, say Qantas points upgrades, look for A class for First, mid to high D or any I class for Business and any R for Premium Economy.

Look for the most expensive category of the cabin YOU are currently booked in as being sold out e.g. J0 to first, W0 to Business & Y0 to PE for increased op-up chances. Also, look for availability on the discount premium buckets (A, P, I, D, U, T & Z inventories).

Conversely, look for high numbers in the discount economy buckets (N, O, Q, E & X inventories) for reduced op-up chances.

Seat maps can be a VERY rough guide but note that just because a seat is not showing as allocated does not mean that seat hasn't been sold. Not everyone pre-selects seats.

Original thread title: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Appreciate it if someone could check EP for loadings.

Thanx. So, I think there is not much chance of an op-up from PE to J for 2 px.

My son is on QF10 from LHR on 5 Oct, just bought his ticket earlier this week, very expensive, maybe a very full flight. Had trouble booking a seat, had to ring Qantas they even had a trouble but now has a seat booking.
Worst part is he gets into Melbourne at 21:55 but doesn't fly out to Sydney until 6am the next morning. Says he will sleep at the airport, I am not even sure he an do this.

Indeed. I think we should buy a lottery ticket though as a J-F points upgrade has just come through :D
TBH, I am not surprised - it's upgrade season (being School Holidays) and QF in all likelihood have have sold many of those PE/J/F seats for economy fares.

Then it comes to those in the pecking order with upgrade requests WP1->WP->SG->PS->NB->etc., followed by op-ups if the points requests didn't do the job.

Hello all, I'm wondering if anyone could be so kind as to check what the probability of points upgrade may be on the following:
* QF 2 LHR-SYD 23 October 2014
* QF1 SYD-LHR 19 Nov 2014

2 pax, Gold and Silver, from Full flex Y to Business.

thanks
Steve

Expert Flyer shows for QF2 5 seats blocked in F, 7 blocked, 2 unallocated in J, and 5 blocked in Y+. So some wriggle room for upgrades, depending where you are on the status list.

Re: update on QF93 on 12 sept

Can someone please tell me the loadings for the following TG flights? Looking to see how full the F cabin is likely to be.

30 October
BKK-HKG TG606
8 November

Re: update on QF93 on 12 sept

I have not done this before ... my daughter is going to be on QF 7 SYD-DFW on 16 Oct booked in Y by her work when they get around to it.

If I put in for an upgrade for her from her account (bronze), how many points do I need to transfer to her account? J would be great, Y+ would be good too.

Or, is it a waste of time as it's all full?

Expert Flyer returns the following: F9 A9 J9 C9 D9 I3 W3 R0 T0 Y9 B9 H9 K9 M9 L9 V9 S9 N9 Q9 O9 G0 E9

Doesn't look too busy, except in W (Prem Econ). The seat maps show 8 unallocated spaces in J, and another 17 blocked. But in W, every seat is allocated so the W3 suggests they are prepared to oversell. So some op ups may reduce likelihood of upgrade. Probably worth a try though.
