JFK-YVR with CX 777. Access to AA flagship first dining was spectacular. Amazing flight all aspects. Cathay are consistently excellent especially their service.
You get access to JFK Flagship dining room by flying on CX metal? Thought it was AA transcon/international only. Interesting

I think it's because Cathay have no lounge at JFK and the first cabin is so small with CX (6 IIRC) so it's not a big load on AA. Tried to get into flagship first dining at LAX but failed lol

Access to the general Flagship Lounges is open to a lot of people. Similar to the access requirements for the QF International J lounges. Getting into the Flagship Dinning room though it limited to F cabin international and F cabin on 3 cabin domestic.

If you can get into the Flagship lounge and have an F class boarding pass for any airline, you should be able to get in to the dining room, space permitting.

This was about the Flagship ("fine") dining room only.

The "F BP for any airline" for the dining room is wrong. I have not been allowed when holding a QF F BP at LAX, for example.
This is why I asked regarding CX because the published rules say no to CX.

No that's incorrect. I'm pretty sure it's an agreement between Cathay and AA as CX currently have no facilities to accommodate their first class passengers at JFK.
I used your theory at LAX as i was travelling CX in first and was denied as I've read has happened to others.
The way the AA Terms and conditions read is even at JFK Cathay passengers shouldn't qualify but I can verify that I was given an invitation.
