Final flight is QF452 on 27/12.

A truly great aircraft, that in many ways is better than the aircraft that followed it.

Interesting comment, JB. Are you referring to the lineage at Boeing or QF....or possibly even both??

Regards,

BD

All my upcoming flights - 2 next weekend and 2 over Christmas have been subbed for 737s now =(
Looks like I'll be stuck in a middle seat and hoping for a shadow (wife in the aisle).

I think there's more chance of a middle seat remaining free than a window except row 4 as people continue to move themselves out of perfectly decent aisle or window seats further back into the holy grail of 4B or 4E. I've been fortunate to get a shadow when selecting 6D & 6F for myself & SO who are both WP. Of course it will always depend on the load factor.

A bit off topic but I noticed that there are large gaps in the B767's flight schedule (eg NOV 17 -30; DEC 9 - 17 - 25).

What's happening to the aircraft during these gaps and isn't this really bad aircraft utilization?

Or am I missing something??

Yes... those are the dates of final flights for those routes

Some of the Brisbane cabin crew were a permanent fixture on QF824/5 operating the 767, if Marnee and her crew are still doing it I fear they may need counselling when it goes .

Just had a look at the seat map for QF452 on MMB and it's showing 8 unoccupied seats in the J cabin. 6 in the centre pairs and a couple of aisle seats on either side. Y cabin is 2/3rds occupied with no windows and the majority of vacant seats are in the middle block.
Wonder if some of the J seats are earmarked for QF staff?

I doubt it. I think if staff want to fly on that flight, they'll be buying a real ticket, just like everyone else. I know that I would.

I imagine that some people are just booking it as a normal flight, and haven't concerned themselves with choosing seats or anything

Thanks for the list, and to think I missed QF651 by 1 week. Nov 10 it became a 737-800, and I notice I am on QF513 at 8:25am on the 27 Dec not at 9:25am, I wonder if I can ring up and ask if I can be moved to QF517.

I am on QF751 to Adelaide at 12:30PM on the 27 Dec.

Anyone know Sydneys minimum connection time.

I think for wholly dom flights, one hour to three quarters of an hour MCT in SYDd is enough, assuming your arrival plane is on time, and you don't plan to use the QP (or if you do, go upstairs, get QP card scanned, 1 drink, quick snack, then down escalators to get your flight out). And you have done OLCI, and that either you have your QCC or a paper BP.
Have done 2 hours MCT from SYDi from CHC EK (17:55 plane landing), rush through Immi & Customs, (touch wood I wasn't questoned), to get to SYDd in preparation for an 20:10 flight out to ADL. I have an hour and a half MCT in MEL coming up in a few months, all dom.
Am sitting on PS, and am aiming for SG, for 2 years, then back to PS, then NB with QP.
Edit: Assuming your BNE to SYD timings is the 10:50 (am) arr, then to 12.50 (am) is 2 hours, great timings that one. 517, can be done, but touch wood that the 517 comes in on the dot at 12:00.
