Final flights for the B767

just looked at pricing and minimum for Y is $380

then looked at award bookings and nothing available, however JQ37 was available in StarClass for 12,800 points.

whilst I realise it lacks the nostalgia of last B767, * class on 787 and F lounge lunch is very tempting !!!!

I've now booked my SYD-MEL flight for the 27th.
Picked QF425 as it's also a 767. Red-e-deal and points upgrade to J.
I appear to be the only pax in the J cabin at present  so if any of you awesome people would like to join me that would be lovely :D

And I have done exactly that, am on QF425 on the way down, now need to get a seat for the return trip

I booked my return, so now have MEL-SYD-BNE that night... but now need to work out how I'm getting to MEL for the main event :D

And MEL-SYD now booked too, burnt some points to help reduce some of the costs..

I had my first and last QF 767 flight yesterday and it was great (possibly in part due to the wine consumed in J lounge).
It was the fastest acceleration and shortest take-off I've ever experienced. I figured this may be due to it being quite powerful yet not having to carry a lot of fuel on the SYD-MEL route?

I did get a scare when what I thought was my 767 left the gate 45 minutes before my flight but fortunately the space was filled by another 767 shortly after. My last attempt to fly the wide-body was scuttled with them downsizing to a 737 (I ended u being the only J passenger) so I was glad that didn't happen again.

Here she is:

I have had 2 767 flights in the past couple of weeks. Spacious cabin and comfortable.

I have a flight coming up in business class next. Looking forward to it. They will be sorely missed.

P.S. A lot of my 767 flight bookings are getting substituted to 737s. :(

I had what would most likely be my last QF 767 flight on Monday. The weather disruptions allowed me to move to the 767 flight (although I didn't realise it until I was given the bp). I rarely get onto the 767s, but it's still a little sad knowing I won't be seeing it again with the red marsupial painted on it.

I am thinking of doing the unthinkable around these parts... money is tight, and despite having my flights home booked (classic award), the best I can get down to MEL is looking to be around $264+ at a time of the year I should spend with my family. I realise you're all my family too... but I'm close to cancelling my tickets (freeing up an X seat) and enjoying the show from afar. I realise I may never get a water cannon salute experience again, especially on a final flight, but the 767's were never my favourite anyway, that goes to the 734's, which I missed out on :(

Thoughts, advice?

Wouldn't worry about the water cannon too much. They'll probably have one when the last 747 is eventually sent out to the pasture desert.

My original suggestion of JQ price beat still stands. Failing that try NPX47 on VA?

Both options would give me a flight price of a little over $100... so now I have to make a decisions, to book or to cancel.

We look forward to your (unconfirmed) appearance regardless Sam :)

In regards to the water cannon, all you need to do to get that is go to London in a riot :p

Thanks for the Youtube video on Runway 16Romeo...
So sad to know that in a few weeks, that noise that only the 767 makes on take off will no longer be heard on the QF side of things.
My next kick will be on the 6.30pm/6.45pm (if NZ don't change it), NZ's 767 from SYD to AKL next year.

Had my final 767 flight in business yesterday morning BNE-SYD in 4K. Lots of shadows.
